Recommended length of visit: More than 3 hours
Owner description: Public and private 3 hour sails aboard Stars & Stripes USA-11, the authentic 1992 America's Cup racing yacht sailed by Dennis Conner. Take the helm, grind the winches, or just hang on as this amazing high performance racer zips around San Diego Bay at twice the speed of the average sailboat. A truly unique and memorable experience. Soft drinks, water, peanuts, & pretzels are provided at no cost. You are welcome to bring your own camera, but a crew member will be taking complimentary photos & videos of all the action on board as well as the sights of San Diego Bay. After the sail, complimentary refreshments are served while viewing the days activities on our flat screen TV. The photos & videos will then be posted on Google Web Albums for free access and use. The total cost (no additional taxes or fees) of $125 for adults & $75 for children (5-18) is the best value and most exciting venue on San Diego Bay.
Useful Information: Activities for older children

My family and I had a STUNning afternoon out on the water on the Stars & Stripes and with their amazing crew. We learned so much from our tour guide, Bee, and the crew took excellent care of us. My kids were thrilled getting to "drive" the boat. I would recommend this excursion to anyone coming to the area and the locals! I have never been treated so well on a tour PLUS they take tons of pictures and you can download them for free. That is usually unheard of! So go...go now... May there be wind in your sails, and wine in your glass.

As amazing as the Stars & Stripes USA 11 is, the experience is greatly enhanced by the grace and hospitality of Captain Lynn Hanna and his wife. They made us all feel like guests, more like family really, on their boat. The rest of the crew are amazing too, you learn about the history of the Americas Cup race, the boat, sailing and the San Diego harbor.

It was an unforgettable experience and they took about 500 photos of the day's sail and sent us a link to all the pictures to download just to make sure we don't forget. :)

I've been a fan of America's Cup Racing since the early 80's. These boats have always been at the TOP of the food chain for Racing Sailboats. Having seen this boat race in the early 90's, I jumped at the chance to take my 12 year old son out for a day on the bay.
It was a Dream come true! Even my son was given the opportunity to steer her for several mins. The crew and photographer Pete were fantastic! We went out on a Weds. with a small group. The seas were calm with 8-10 knot winds so we spent about 40 mins. offshore. Capt. Mark did an awesome job of balancing the fine line of giving us an experience of what it like to be out sailing on a America's Cup race boat, and not getting anyone sick or even uncomfortable. Now I see why everyone gives this ride 5 stars, It doesn't get any better than this! It's impossible to please all the people all the time, but these folks try there darndest.

Absolute first class service! Every crew member was beyond courteous, fun and engaging...I guess that's the difference one should expect given that they are all volunteers and are just there because they love to sail!!

Great experience and definitely safe for all ages and physical abilities.

To top it all off, they have a photographer who takes amazing photos and they give you access to download them for free!!!

If you are thinking of doing a short sailing trip... This is the place to go!!

Thanks guys!!

Learned a lot about the America's Cup history and our boat, the Stars & Stripes. The crew is great and the three hours we spent sailing were fantastic!
