Escaping a business seminar for the afternoon was a little bit rebellious of me. But, Im glad that I did. The historical park and the staff were a breath of fresh air.
Being an Aussie & knowing little about the history of San Diego, it was wnderful to learn about it all. The old telegraph shop had video, photos, stage coach and a wonderful attendant who took the time to educate me.
The sweets shop was devine and the taffy, delicious. Watching the ladies put the taffy through the machine & twist the wrapping, pure fasination. They too were a delight and I had wonderful conversation.
The paintings, gems and jewellery towards to end of the park before you reached the Mexican restaurants was insightful & magical.
I walked in/out of the metal light shop, as it was too expansive & the women manning the shop were not friendly.
All in all, a worth while and insightful visit.
