“Great Family Fun!”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

We spent the afternoon walking thru looking at all the displays and stores. It is very pretty and kid friendly and it is all free. We ate at Barra Barra Mexican Restaurant where kids 10 and under ate free. Our favorite stop was the Morman Battalion Historic Site. The site is very pretty when the cactus are blooming.

“nice reproduction”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

It is a nice reproduction of what old San Diego was like. There was easy access with the bus and trolley. Some of the buildings are original, but many are rebuilt reproductions. The Wells Fargo exhibit including a video of the history of Wells Fargo was informative. All in all it was nicely done.

“An interesting and fun time!”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

My friend and I were in San Diego for our first night and were advised to tour the Old Town area at night so we drove down and found a parking spot. My first impression was wow! what an interesting place, it was full of music and very lively. We visited the Fiesta de Reyes and wandered all over visiting all the shops where we bought some souvenirs and took many pictures. I could have spent even longer looking around until we decided to stop at Cafe Coyote to eat dinner (another review on that) and proceeded to visit all of the buildings that were open that evening. I really loved the way everything was lit up at night. We had a great time!

“Muy Bueno !”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We spent most of the afternoon here on Saturday, Feb. 23rd and I wish we had spent the entire day. It was great !
First, it's free, so you can stay as long as you want and bring as many family members as you like, and it won't cost you a dime !
We had lunch at Miguel's (don't miss the white cheese dip) and it was delicious. Some of the best Mexican food we ever had. Service was excellent, it's a great spot for people watching and the prices were very reasonable. My husband says that he is going to judge all other Mexican food by the quality at Miguel's.....we never felt rushed to "eat it and beat it". The pace was pleasant and the ambience was great.
We wandered from shop to shop, admiring the many lovely things that were available. Prices ranged from "Not bad" to "more than I wanted to spend" . It was nice to have such a lovely choice of interesting things to
There are bus tours available around Old Town, but we walked and it was a delight. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed it. I might feel differently if it had been really hot, but should someone want to take the bus, it's available.
Parking is pretty ghastly, but maybe if we had gotten there sooner, we would have gotten a free place. As it was, we found a place for $5.00, which was certainly a bargain.
This is a great place to take pictures..lots of photo ops. There were a few stores that have a 'No Photo" policy, , but they are well posted.
My husband wants to go back because he really loved it.

“A fun Place”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

A great place to buy souvenirs, eat out for supper. We absolutely loved the place to get all kinds of rootbeer and they do have a great rootbeer float too. Too bad the Whaley house was closed the day we were there.
