“Great Kid Experience”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

We took our 8-year grandson. He loved it and we enjoyed it also. It took less than 2 hours which was a perfect time for all of us. Our grandson is into pirates and he thought the one ship was a pirate ship (it was not).

“Great museum, well laid out”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We visited this museum in February 2014. The museum contains a wealth of exhibits showing the maritime history of San Diego. Well laid out, and well annotated to explain the history. A number of famous boats/yachts are on display, some of which you can visit. We also took the optional trip around the bay which gave us a good opportunity to see San Diego from the water. Our guide was very informative, and readily answered any questions. If you have a couple of hours or more to spare, we highly recommend this museum!

“Do visit this museum”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

So much to see here. With sailing ships and submarines plus a great museum. You can go over all the ships but the Russian sub has very small porthole doorways so you have to be fairly agile to get through! It was all so interesting we spent several hours here and would love to go again if we are in San Diego again.

“Maritime Museum for a reception”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

I attended a university reception held at this venue. It is easy to get to. The upper deck was interesting with LOTS of booths to seat people for conversations. The back deck had nice views and is a great place if the inside gets stuffy. There was lots is room just to roam and visit.

“U.S.A the long way round”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Don't miss this. Young and older, it's great. Yep, seen other maritime museums and ships of similar type but you really have to visit this one to see and appreciate the effort that has gone into the restoration and maintenance of vessels of these eras. If you are in San Diego and you pass this by, especially with children, you will have sold yourself short. To appreciate the future you have to know your past. You might have to drag the children kicking and screaming on board, but they will be the ones hanging back when you want to leave. Ladies wear suitable clothing and footwear. Cost wise it's a bargain. Take advantage of discounts. San Diego did not disappoint, just not enough days.
