We read the reviews on this and thought we would give it a try for something different and it was on America's most haunted. They should not charge admission for this. It was a self guided tour that you read from a brochure. If you have questions there is someone there to answer them. It literally took our family 10 minutes to tour it and we were done. We had a much better and informative time at the Mormon Battalion Site that was up the road and free. Very much a tourist trap. Our family was very disappointed with museum.

The Whaley House is different. I watched a TV show about America's most haunted houses. We were in the area, so went to see whet we might see! The $10 per person admission fee was too much for this attraction. You get to see antique furniture and pictures of orbs, that could possibly be a spirit. But to each there own opinion.

My kids wanted to go in and it is a self guided tour with a lot of reading for such a small place but the gift shop had some nice things and the staff was very nice.

The Whaley House has an interesting history and the tour will take you through the house and you are able to see how the Whaley's lived in the 1800s. This house is right in the middle of Old Town, so this is an interesting tour if you like history. This house is reported to be the most haunted house in America, but we didn't see any ghosts, hear any paranormal activity nor did we get pictures with orbs or mist... The tour only lasts about 45 minutes and I would liked to have stayed longer looking around at the different rooms. Take a tour at night and then visit the cemetery (down the street) at the same time (take a flashlight). We ran in to some paranormal investigators at the cemetery and they had a voicebox with spirits talking to them-now that was interesting..

I'd wanted to visit this haunted home ever since seeing a show about it on t.v.. The home has a big part in San Diego's history. It is a small home, but housed the court house, a small store, and the areas first theatre. Although we didn't see any spirits on our trip, many people have reported ghostly encounters here. I felt it was well worth the $6 price. It is expensive keeping old building and homes in good condition and that seemed like a fair price. The docents wear period costumes and are extremely knowledgeable.
