The walking tour was very informative and interesting. I liked the fact that the guide was dressed in period costume. Apparently, it was one of the first brick houses in the area of it's kind. Also interesting, is that the owner bought the property for $1.50! It served the public with a courthouse, a theater, and a general store, as well as being a residence. Lot's of original items remain in the house. They say if you smell lavender, it is the ghost of Mrs. Whaley, as this is the oil she used to wear. They also say that one of the most active ghosts is the family dog, "Dolly", and that she has been know to lick a few toes sticking out of sandals, whilst during a tour! Fascinating!
