The Spanish Village Art Center was my favorite. The free one hour guided tour was also very pleasant.

“Beautiful Park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

The landscaping and buildings are truly beautiful, great for a picnic or relaxing. There isn't too much else to do there other visit the 15 or so museums, but I'd recommend taking a peak if your on your way to the zoo since it is right there.

The Balboa Park has a variety of museums for all ages, and they are in a walking distance. A lot of gardens arround makes your walk pleasent.

“Much more than just a park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

I loved this place. It has a beautiful architecture and the gardens are amazing. I really enjoyed the dessert garden, don't miss it. I think you have to pay por the Japanese Tea Garden, but we just went around it and was enough. The Spanish Village is really pretty, full of artisan's shops.
You have all the museums in here, so take your time if you plan to visit something indoors.
You can park for free.
Loads of people, nice atmosphere.

“Unreal architecture!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013 via mobile

The details in the buildings are superb! So many things to do! More than meets the eye! Balboa Park is a must see, must add to your itenerairy! The waterfountains are awesome and a great photo op!

Suprisingly the dry desert area across the street from main center is amazing! The cactus park is an awesome stroll worth taking!!!!!

If you have children, the Balboa train station and carousel are a win win 45 minutes of your time!!! Spanish Art village is a quaint area that is relaxing and fun to walk.

The choice of museums are abundant but very time consuming! Pay as you go instead of the day pass. We only visited the model train museum and it was very entertaining!!!
