“Lots of Great Museums”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

Home to many great museums and also the Old Globe Theatre complex. This is where several great Broadway shows have been introduced, including soon-to-be-released on Broadway, the new George Takei show, Allegiance.

Now this is somewhat of a circumstantial review, but it's worth mentioning. It's a huge place with lots of really great vistas, walking trails, outstanding Spanish colonial architecture, and interesting museums. We even got to hear the organist rehearsing for the weekly Sunday concert. While all of that was impressive, they neglected to put anything on their website about a Christmas event the day we came. The pedestrian malls were lined with trashy carnival booths and rides. A few of the museums weren't open. The tram that circles the park did not stop at its normal locations, forcing us to walk everywhere. Any other weekend this place would have been pretty neat, but I'm disappointed we wasted half a day here.

“Too much to see”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

32 museums and the Zoo-quite a place. Zoo is very handicap friendly. The Aerospace museum is outstanding. The museum of Natural History suffered a power outage the day we were there and was closed.

“So much to see and do here”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

This is a lovely park. Well maintained and lots to see and do for all ages. Check opening times, as some museums are closed on Mondays. There is a fee for the Japanese garden which is relaxing but small, although they are building a bigger area. Well worth visiting and lots to see even if you don’t spend any money.

“Lots to see at Balboa Park”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

We went in the Nat. HIstory Museum. Enjoyed the 45 nature film about coral reefs the most there. Landscaping is enjoyable in e park - like the atrium there, Ate good food at the Prado restaurant, lovely other buildings to see and more than we
could get to. Would take a segway ride to see it all next time.
