This IS a nice place to stay, love the openness of the overall hotel, especially the lobby areas.
Restaurants are 'OK', but I did not find anything particularly special about them.
I rate the rooms 4 for comfort, cleanliness and visual, but came away from this place with mixed feelings. They 'nickel and dime' you to death. Give marks for creativity as they find many ways to extract your hard earned 'coin' from you. Eg.-2 beers, 1 glass house wine....and the non-optional 18% gratuity (not 15), for a young lady to take it from point A 15 feet away from us, to our table, point B, at the outdoor bar.....$31.86....don't get an option on the service. Don't get too thirsty, you may be hitch-hiking home.
Breakfast buffet, nice, but $25.00 each, and of course, plus gratuity.
Wifi-free in the lobby.....costs you in your room.
It's not the amount of money you spend it's how they go about extracting it from you. There were other meddlesome examples but I've forgotten them...it was just annoying!
The grounds around the hotel are nice, and the view from the various terraces is very nice for sunsets.

Room Tip: View of the bridge and the bay is nice but you have to look out over the huge Dole shipping/receivin...

I am a Hilton Honors member and this is one of the best Hiltons I have stayed at. My view of the water was fantastic. The whirlpool and pool were great as was the spa. The poolside bar was wonderful and the food was very tasty. The staff was top notch. The downtown location was right near many attractions including the gaslight district. Would definitely .

Stayed at this Hotel while waiting again for join a Cruise ship through till January
Found the Hotel very spacious and ideal location on the sea front.
When I checked in I received the usual response from the reception staff, very happy and smiling and welcomed me to the hotel.
My room was on the 29th floor and it was a corner room over looking the sea and the town.
Having taken a walk round the Hotel it has nearly every thing one could want, with swimming pools, great bars and keep fit centre, with disabled facilities in all.
Breakfast, as most hotel is reasonable and is either self service or served, with all there waiters were very friendly and very accommodating.
This Hotel is ideal for large conferences, and it is very close the Conference Centre in San Diego, There are number of restaurants close to the Hotel with various types of food, mainly on the sea front with great views and all were very friendly towards us.
The City centre is not to far from the Hotel.
There is also the he 'Old Town Trolly Tour' stops at the hotel side entrance, it is only one trolly and no standing allowed, and run very frequently, and is great and fun and the best way to see the city.
Our tour guide was 'Molly' I think and she was great fun, well worth the tour.

However I was surprised that there was no Hotel Courtesy bus from the Airport to the Hotel, but this could have been that I arrived in the evening. I did phone the Hotel from the airport, but told me to get a Taxi which was £20
Stayed at the Hotel for 2 nights and will defiantly stay again at this Hotel next time i'm in the area.

This hotel is in a perfect location for tourists, convention participants and nightlife enthusiasts likewise. The convention centre is literally across the street, the city's attractions within walking distance and the gaslamp quarter for dining and going out a mere 10 minute stroll away.
The view from the room over the city or the bay is a pretty sight at day and night. The 5k run along the bayfront can be started right in front of the hotel.
The staff is very attentive and friendly and the hotel's restaurants seem to be good too (just had catering during a meeting).

Room Tip: Upper floor, either view towards the city or the bay front

Nice Hotel, very modern and good located (Walking distance to gaslamp district). The room was very large (we got this upgrade which you can book for a low Price but without guarantee), new and clean. Breakfast also very good with buffet. Only Problem: WLAN and Computers very expensive.

wanted something special so went with flexible dates which gave us corner room we could afford. Asked for nicest room available in that category, and got great room on 20th floor. Since we were there for weekend, I asked for robes which were nice to access the pools. We enjoyed seared ahi salad, champagne, grilled asparagus, great tomatillo salsa. Lovely staff, relaxed, comfortable stay in good location for us.

We have stayed her two times --- each time has been great with a beautiful room. Our second visit we were on the 25th floor in a suite that had panaramac views of the city and harbor. The breakfast was great and the chef made a wonderful vegan (vegetable) burrito for me--while my husband had a great eggs benedict. Would definitely stay again, it is very convenient to the Gaslight district that has all the restaurants and shops. Perfect location.
