“Good stay but needing updating”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed one night during a trip up the Natchez Trace. This hotel is easily accessed from the Trace without fighting traffic and close to several nice restaurants. We stayed in the section of the hotel with a interior hall, but it requires you to travel outside to go to the office or breakfast. The hall had a musty smell, but the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and the dining room was crowded with folks getting ready to go to work. The other hotel section has exterior doors which I usually avoid when traveling. The hotel was nice enough to warrant a return visit.

I think I am now a fan of Hampton inns after this emergency trip we had to make. This was the nicest one yet. Kind of old fashioned, but very nice. Even though we were near the elevator it was so quiet and trees and the outdoors outside the second floor window. had a problem at first with the key cards not working and then they worked after we switched. Close to delicious evening dinner a plus.

Room Tip: All I know is our second floor back building room was great!

I was a bit skeptical when I learned my room was accessed from outside like a motel. However, the room was quiet, clean and spacious. Best of all it had the most comfortable bed of all the big name chain hotels I have stayed in recently - the linens were also very nice. I slept so well I almost overslept my meeting. The breakfast was nicely laid out, replenished regularly and kept clean. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Temperature control with wall thermostat in the room seemed to be exceptional. The window curtains did not billow and gap from the heating and air like they do in most hotels. In addition to curtains, the windows had louvered shutters on the inside. The coffee was very good and available 24 hours. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: I had room 114 with king bed on the ground floor near the front of the hotel with parking right outs...

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was quite comfortable and functional. The amenities were great, and the cookies available during check-in were an added surprise. Would return in an instant!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was pretty good. The TV left something to be desired (poor reception on most every channel).

I would stay here again. I would recommend it to you!

While traveling we called ahead and booked room. We were surprised that all rooms were accessible directly from the parking lot. We were tired and decided to stay. Front desk staff were friendly and professional. Once in room it was clean but could tell by slight smell is was old. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Once in bed and lights were out we noticed that we could see parking lot light where the door met the jam. By then we were too tired to leave. When leaving the early the next morning we noticed another Hampton within a mile of this location that was new. If we had seen earlier we would have stayed there and felt more secure.

The staff at this Hampton Inn could not have been more helpful. The desk clerk bent over backwards to help us find our evening destination. They had warm cookies on check-in, unusual because that is the hallmark of the sister chain, Doubletree. I really like Hampton Inns, nice rooms, good value, great breakfasts, Internet access. This one is close to the Tupelo Natchez Trace visitor chenter, which is why we chose it. Note: exterior hallways. That means you have to walk outside to get to breakfast, but the walkways are covered.
