“Off to a bad start”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

Club Quarters is right in the heart of the Financial District in downtown Boston. There is no parking in front, just curb space to load and unload. So, when we arrived, I was unloading our Jeep, and my wife went in to check in.

However, this was a problem. My wife went in, and told them we had a reservation. She gave our name, and the lady at the front desk check, and promptly informed my wife that , no, she didn't have a reservation and then proceeded to ignore my wife. No further checking, no desire to help at all. It was as if she didn't believe her. Kudos to my wife, who I could tell was very upset. She calmly looked up our reservation with her tablet, and asked if the lady if she could look it up by reservation number. Seemingly put out, she did, and there was the reservation. We had booked the room directly with the hotel, and somehow our last name was entered as first, and first as last. She then checked us in.

If you have a car, parking is expensive. But not much you can do about it.

The rooms are very small, and so is the bathroom. However, this isn't to say that the room wasn't good. It was nice, clean and very modern. Flat TV on the wall, iPod compatible alarm clock, charging stations. That part was great. The bathroom was tiny, but we managed. The rooms are offset from the main hallway, and there are 2 rooms for each offset. The front doors of the two rooms are right next to each other. This means that when your neighbor shows up, it almost sounds like they're coming into your room.

There is no view, other than the high rise office building across the street. We did get a first hand view of some woman shoe shopping on her office computer. I wonder if she knows she can be seen ....

The location is the best part of the hotel. Close to most everything you would want to see in Boston. Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, Gardens, the Freedom Trail. We walked everywhere. Another nice thing about the hotel is that each floor has a filtered water machine, where you can get a plastic bottle, and fill it up with water, then take it back to your room. It was good water.

Overall, the hotel isn't too bad. I would give consideration to stay here again, as the location was great and the room was decent, however, my wife will never stay here again. That initial experience clouded the whole visit....

We enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights over a weekend. We found the deal on Priceline and were pleased with the value. It was a good location, though since it is in the financial district, pretty empty on the weekend. It was a central location and was very close to Faneuil Hall and the North End. The room was clean and fairly small, though bigger than we expected with a queen bed, armchair and desk. We were on the 10th floor and didn't have any issues with noise or other guests. We could hear some doors closing, but never heard other guests. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped us with storing our luggage, calling cabs, etc and seemed happy to help. We also really liked the free bottled water, since we were out all day it was nice to fill up and save a little money every day.

Room Tip: We were on a higher floor and didn't have any issues with external noise or from other guests.

I enjoyed my stay here. Rooms were comfortable and clean, location-wise excellent. Close to Harvard, MIT, Fenway Park, Prudential Mall. A lot of tourist attractions can be reached by walking (Boston Common, Little Italy, Old State House, Boston Harbor etc). I would definitely come back to this hotel :)

Worst of the worst experience. I stayed here from 05/21-6/24 for work. First of all, their housekeepers are so lazy. they wipe the glasses and dish with a towel with lint still in them. They pretend to be green, They told you that if you need your towels changed leave them on the floor, but they just fold them and put them back on the rack. (I even marked the towels to test) Disgusting disgusting my colleague had the similar experience. Their staff is rude and unprofessional and they are contracted with my company, imagine your experience if you only stay for a couple nights. Stay away from this place.

I loved this hotel and Boston and look forward to staying in other Club Quarters. It was pared down and had only what I needed. A compact room that was clean and safe, nice bathroom and quiet hallways. I really liked the water filling stations on every floor with water bottles. Nice room to have WI-fi and coffee in the morning, attached to a decent English Style pub with rather funny karaoke singers on a Saturday and a decent pint and snacks.

Room Tip: If you are not looking for the hotel to be your destination but a place to crash this place is perfe...

The difference between an awesome hotel and an okay hotel is in the details. This hotel has a great location, but little things keep it from being great. The bathrooms are on the small side, as are the corridors, but given the rate, that is somewhat to be expected.

What made it a bit thin was the overall guest experience. They've got automated checkin machines, which didn't really work all that well. The rooms aren't really all that well thought out -- in my room, there was a considerable amount of dead space.

I'd go back, but not for the experience, but for the fact I'd need a reasonably priced place to stay in downtown Boston.

If you are looking for a clean & stylish hotel that is close to everything downtown, then this is it! The rooms are not huge, but how much time do you really spend there when you are vacationing? The room behind the lobby has free coffee, espresso and cappacino , snacks and fruit. The fitness room is very nice and the front desk staff extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this place. Fyi, the service next door at the bar/restaurant is slow.

Room Tip: If you don't think you will use a microwave or fridge, choose a smaller room at a lesser fee.
