We planned our trip to Boston months ago for a Red Sox, and chose this hotel because it offered a suite with two queen rooms with a common. The hotel looked very nice from the lobby , and we tried to focus on that rather than the giant rats we encountered in the parking lot. For the money we paid, the room was sub-par at best. The common room had uncomfortable, outdated furniture and a 20 inch tv. The bedrooms had no detail (artwork), had dust and dirt in the corners, the closet ceiling was not finished and one of the bed rooms didnt even have a tv. The bathroom was small and the grout looked black, moldy even? When we went to the vending machines, every item we purchased was expired (except the bottle of water). For the price, this hotel was not worth it. We did enjoy the fact that the hotel was close to Fenway and we enjoyed the game.

If you are planning on visiting Fenway park this is an excellent location to stay. Nothing glamorous but the price is very reasonable for Boston. It is just a short walk to Fenway park and to Kemore station to catch the T.

I looked hard for a hotel that was reasonably priced in Boston and found this hotel at a decent price. It was a small room, with a small bathroom(seriously move the TP holder to a better location!). We suggest you make the carpet on the stair up to the bathroom a different color than the main floor, we were nervous we would trip! Bed was comfortable, room was clean.
BUT we were not spending lots of time in our room so it worked for us. The subway is totally convenient and easy to use, the location is on the other side of town from the Freedom Trail but if you are there for a Red Sox game, WOW you couldn't get any closer. We enjoyed walking around the old ball park, took the subway to the other sites we wanted and had a great time in Boston. The age of the hotel kind of fit the feel of the history of Boston, which we found charming. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast standard continental but the layout is crowded and annoying in the serving area.

My daughter and I went to Fenway for her Birthday on Sept. 23rd. We had an awesome time. After the game and tribute to Johnny Pesky, we went back to our hotel "Boston Hotel Buckminster" when we were checking in, the girl told us we were upgraded to a king bed room. When we got into the room, we opened the blinds to find that our room was facing Fenway Park. It was so cool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

OK, my room was pretty small (reminded me of a New York City sized hotel room), but it was clean and had a comfortable bed and a hot shower. Can't beat the location if you need to spend the night near Fenway. Also, if you have a kid who is a student at Boston University, this hotel is PERFECT...right in the middle of campus.

This old building has been renovated to a high standard. Nice comfortable bed, everything clean. TV, small refrigerator and a microwave in the room. Good continental breakfast. A bit pricey for what you get but this is Boston and so its pricing reflects this market. Those are the ups. Some downs. Our room was noisy. The heat pumps for the building's air-conditioning were right outside our room and if you are a light sleeper you are going to hear them. They run 24/7. We tried to move but three Red Sox games and the hotel was full so no luck. The refrigerator is inside a particle board cabinet and it ran for five minutes out of every eight with the attendant vibration. Fixed that by turning it off. Cold drinks machine in the lobby but no coffee/tea facilities either in room or in the lobby.

Room Tip: Avoid Room 320.

An old, nicely maintained, comfortable, big-city hotel with character. The bed was very comfortable, room light, nice sized, and windows opened. A few scuff marks here and there. Slow, small elevator. We were upgraded to a king and wi-fi was free. Staff was very courteous, helpful. Breakfast with good coffee next door in the sushi restaurant was acceptable, too. Walking distance to Fenway Park, Lansdowne street pubs, Eastern Standard restaurant, fast food, and public transit. Across from Boston University, lots of students, very bustling middle class environment. It's not so close to the harbor/wharf historic area, or Copley Square, both more characteristically historic Boston locations.
