“pretty Good Deal”

This hotel was in a great location. We were able to walk one block to the subway and go anywhere in Boston. It was clean and quiet. The hotel is older but it had great charm. It's right next door to Fenway an we had great fun watching the crowds arrive for the game. They also have a good breakfast. I really shopped around and their prices were good for the Boston area.

The hotel is in a great location, there is a bunch of stuff to do in the surrounding area, and traveling by foot or by public transportation is easy and cheap.
Hotel staff is polite and accommodating, the rooms are clean and cozy but by no means cramped. They could definitely use more outlets or fix the broken ones.

What I really enjoyed was their free breakfast! It's in the japanese restaurant next door and it can get crowded in there, but they offer yummy, thick waffle squares hot off the waffle-maker, assortments of pastries and breads, cereal, FRESH cut fruit (huge slices of juicy, cantaloup melon that I wish I just got a whole plate of), orange juice that might have been from concentrate but tastes freshly squeezed, yogurt, and more.
I think it was the hot waffles and melon slices that did me in...I like to check out the spread when it comes to free breakfasts at hotels, and it's hard to find a hotel that goes beyond the standard apples and oranges when it comes to fruit selection.

As for value, it doesn't get any better than this for a decent part of Boston. Especially you Red Sox fans!

We stayed here for three nights, we had a view of Fenway from our room which the hotel is just a few steps away from.. We had a two bedroom hotel room , it has a microwave and mini fridge. The Hotel is older but it is clean and the staff was friendly. They have a basic continental breakfast. The parking is $28 a day , although an added expense it is the best way to do it.
There are several restaurants including a UNO in the hotel and Popeyes chicken right next door.
It is an easy walk to the Prudential building from there.
There is a subway station across the street. (Kenmore stop)
I recommend this hotel it is good price compared to the ones downtown and with the shuttle (which you have to buy tickets for) you can get downtown very easily. It is also walkable if you are up to 1/2 hour walk or take a taxi. Do NOT drive in Boston, the streets make no sense and the drivers are crazy.

We came into Boston for 2 nights and 2 Sox games and this hotel was perfect. A 2 minute walk and you are on Yawkey way! Yes the hotel is in an old Boston building but it is well kept and the staff could not have been nicer...It is $28 a day to park but it still beats trying to find somewhere else to park for days at a time. The Kenmore T station is also only a couple minute walk from the hotel. Our room was fine, yes it's dated for sure but the room was clean and we were on the 5th floor with a view of Fenway park from both windows. They offer a continental breakfast which for free was good, the dining area is tiny though so go early or expect to bring your food back up to your room which is also ok. I will not stay anywhere else in Boston if I am going to Red Sox games, it was Perfect...

Room Tip: Choose a King Suite for a great room...

Just stayed here for three nights, came to Boston to watch the Red Sox and tour Fenway Park, the location of the Buckminster is second to none! We had a view of Fenway from our 6th floor room. The Hotel is old and it could use some updating, but it was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. They have a nice breakfast in the morning which lasts until 10:30, hot Waffles, bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.

The best thing the Buckminster has going for it is the location! You are so close to Fenway Park, it's a very short walk to the Old ballpark, if you are going for the Red Sox experience this place is hard to beat. Other conveniences located close by are a Barnes and Noble bookstore, a Qdabo Mexican Grill, a McDonalds and a 7-Eleven, also connected to the Buckminster are two different restaurants, Popeyes Chicken and UNO. The Cask and Flagon and several other sports bars are right there also.

The "T" subway train stop "Kenmore" is just a couple of minutes from the Hotel also, making it very convenient coming from the airport, it will only cost you $2.50 per person to ride from Logan Airport to the Buckminster.

I loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more cost effective place to stay, if you need the luxury of a 5-star Hotel, you might want to look somewhere else.

Room Tip: Room 616 has a great view of Fenway Park!

We stayed four nights at the Buckminster Hotel during the Boston marathon weekend. It is well situated at Kenmore Square with a good variety of restaurants within a five minute walk. On several occasions we were submerged by crowds arriving at the Kenmore "T" station for the baseball games at Fenway Park.

We enjoyed the old fashioned ambience of this hotel, a converted apartment building. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful, particularly when the airline delivered our suitcase 24 hours after our arrival. Staff notified us immediately upon delivery. Our third floor room faced an interior space housing the air-conditioning equipment. Unfortunately the room was dark, poorly lit and the phone did not work. Our marathon running daughter stayed on the fifth floor in a lovely refurbished room complete with internet connection. We recommend this non-luxury hotel and hope to return to a better room.

Chris & Jean

Room Tip: Interior facing rooms are quieter.

The hotel looked good from the outside, but our room was horrible. We immediately looked for the nearest fire exit just in case. Very clean, but it looked like a boiler room. We had pipes running across the ceiling and a view of heavy machinery within one foot of our window. When you pay in excess of $250 you expect more. I am certain they have better rooms at the hotel, and we joked that the front desk was laughing when they gave us that particular room. We felt like Shirley Temple in the Little Princess when she was banished to the attic.
