“We'll Be Back! Great Place & Dog Friendly, too! :)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

My husband had a chance to get away last minute without the kids. We called all of our local kennels and they were full. I called the hotel, thinking I was going to cancel our reservations & explained the situation & they said that we are welcome to bring our dog with us!

The first night we were there the dog (choc lab) was nervous & barked a few times. Someone did complain, however the staff was very very nice about it. I was worried about disturbing the other guests in the hotel, but I knew our dog would quiet down once she got used to the place.

Anway, a staff member who was very helpful was Justin. He put our minds at ease about the dog & made sure that we were comfortable at The Colonnade.

The hotel is in a great location, clean & convenient to everything! We really enjoyed the rooftop pool! We will come back with our family to The Colonnade - we really enjoyed our stay there!

We stayed for 4 nights at the Colonnade sharing one large room with our two boys (age 11 and 5). The room was a great size with very comfortable beds (2 doubles) but the en suite was small although the shower was amazing - very powerful. The hotel roof top pool was very welcome as Boston was in the middle of a heat wave but was shut to guests on both Friday and Saturday night of our stay due to functions - probably worth checking before booking if you are only there for a couple of nights. Location is excellent. Right opposite Prudential Centre with plenty of restaurants nearby and a trolley stop right outside.

Really enjoyed our visit to this hotel...at the beginning and end of our New England trip. Excellent base....trolley stop right outside the door and a fine healthy walk into town to use up some calories. Rooms were very comfortable, enjoyed looking on to busy city street. We enjoyed breakfasts...American and Dinner...French in the bistro. The light bar meals were also just right for when we could not face another USA size portion. Bonus in the bar was the Tour de France on TV!
All staff were very friendly. We will be happy to return on our next visit.

Room Tip: We live in the country so enjoyed 515 view of the street.... But later in our trip 1002 was ver quie...

This hotel was clean, the location was good but the whole place was without a soul, there was no vibe, no life, the staff had no personality. The pool was somewhat claustrophobic but still better than no pool i suppose. There is nothing to complain about with this hotel but also nothing to write home about. I feel it could really benefit from a coffee shop in the lobby or something to add some life! The beds were very very comfy.

Dear alc0123,

I’m glad you found our rooms to be clean and the location to be perfect. I’m surprised you found our staff to be lifeless. We pride ourselves on having the friendliest and most responsive team in the city. I appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back to the Colonnade Hotel in the future.

Really great location, nice room and mostly friendly service. You are right in the middle of Copley square. There's a T stop and many of the tour stops right outside the entrance.

I knocked off one star because the guy who we asked to hold our bags was somewhat rude and we had trouble with our AC one night. All in all, i eould definetly stay there again. Tip: AAA does 110% price matching for this hotel, meaning they will match any online price plus 10% of the difference in price. So, instead of $272 a night I only paid $208.

Got a really good deal to stay here for two nights. The rooms are nicely furnished, not huge but very nice. One issue - our room had an interconnecting door to an adjoining room and the sound proofing was terrible so we could clearly hear the people next door which was not good. Glasses we had used on the first day of our stay were not replaced by the made but were just removed which was irritating.

The roof top pool is great and we enjoyed some great cocktails up there.

Garage parking at 48 dollars per day seemed very expensive and hotel guests do not get a discounted rate so pay the same as non-residents which I think is something that should be addressed.

All in all though a great location and a nice stay.

Dear Sirbalkansobranie,

Thank you for the feedback. I’m happy you enjoyed your stay with us. I’m sorry for the missed opportunities with your housekeeping service. We take great pride in exceeding guest’s expectations and it seems that in this circumstance we did not meet your expectations. Overnight parking for hotel guests is $42.00. Our parking rates are competitive with area garages and we allow unlimited in and out access to all of our hotel guests. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

We spent the 4th of July weekend with my husband and in laws, the hotel is at the perfect location, walking distance to all the city's sight seeing, shopping malls and the subway station is right in front if you want to go to other places, rooms are very comfortable and cozy. Downsides are the pool which is definitely not as nice as it shows in the website, it is really small, we were never able to find a chair when we were there, it was packed, it is smaller than a cruise ship pool for those of you who know what we mean... Also they had serious maintenance issues with the elevators, not only we had it twice falling two floors and suddenly stopping which was scary, but one day they had a programming issue and they would all stop in every single floor, everybody was complaining, it could take half an hour to get in or out of your room.

Dear Ordonez8797,

Thank you for your review! I’m happy to hear you and your family were able to enjoy Boston’s only Roof Top Pool over the 4th of July! I’m sorry to hear the elevator was making stops on every floor; our technicians were able to identify the issue. Please come back and see us again!
