“World Irish Dance”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Wow!!!! We stayed 6 nights at the Colonnade for the World Championships in Irish dance. Mr. Norman was the best! We arrived early and our room was not ready. He suggested a perfect place for lunch for me and my daughter. Everytime we entered or left the hotel, the door was held opened and we were greeted by name. We felt right at home, while being in the heart of Boston. Great location and staff. Thank you very much!

Excellent centrally located hotel; global european atmosphere. Have stayed here several times and always find the staff friendly, helpful, and dedicated to making the stay effortless. Rooms are very well appointed with comforting currently styled furnishings and always, everything works like a well tuned machine. Brasserie Jo is an excellent French bistro/cafe style restaurant/ bar and a place to enjoy a fine meal anytime, especially their special take on the flat-bread omelette.

We've had 3 different types of rooms with stays of 1 to 3 days and each had a nice view, was extremely quiet, and convenient to walking or T service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side have a view of Newberry Street and the Boston home style areas.

It is an absolute pleasure to stay at the Collonade. We have visited Boston many times for vacations and, this past year, for college visits. Jill in reservations is wonderful. Always patient and kind with our many requests. And, the professionalism doesn't stop with reservations. It is apparent from the moment you arrive. From the initial greeting and help by the bellman or the Concierge ( who greeted us and helped with our bags while the bellman was with another client) to the front desk, housekeeping and the dining room waiters, you are made to feel as if you are part of the hotel family.
The location is perfect. The T Line is steps from the front door and directly across the street is the Prudential Center with many fine shops and restaurants and just a short walk to Newbury Street.
With our twins attending college in Boston starting this fall, there is no question that the Collonade will certainly be " our home away from home"!

We have stayed at the Colonnade many times and it never disappoints. Staff is very professional and accommodating and the location for our purposes (this time a performance at Boston Symphony Hall - a short walk) is perfect. The fact that the hotel not only accepts dogs but also caters to them with beds, bowls, pet walkers, etc. is a big plus and allows us to travel more frequently. Also, in contrast to many other so-called pet friendly hotels, there is no additional charge for a pet. On our various trips, staff members have been proactive in offering service and assistance and this time was no exception. From our arrival at the curb where we were greeted by Dominick to the front desk (Mika) to our request for non feathered pillows and linens (Phyllis) to various other questions (Jerry, the Concierge), we were treated as if we were special guests. Unless something drastic happens in the future, we will not consider any other hotels on our trips to Boston.

My Senior (HS) son and I stayed overnight here on March 28th while visiting colleges the Back Bay of Boston. This hotel is perfectly located near wonderful restaurants, shopping on Newbury Street, convenient to the Back Bay AmTrack line. Upon check in, w went to our room which wad had a lovely decor, beautiful color palette that made the room feel serene, quiet, and all beautifully appointed with two very comfortable full beds. We both slept amazingly. We unfortunately did not have hot water the next morning, so we had to skip our showers -- the manager apologized upfront upon our checkout for the hotel wide inconvenience and offered two complimentary breakfasts at their restaurant. The food there was just delicious, a french nod to breakfast with prompt and polite service.

We checked our bags and went to the college open house. My son, who suffers from acid reflux and an ulcer, did not fare well with breakfast (his food issues, not the breakfast, which was perfect). Stopping back after our college trip, we asked if we could sit by the bar and have a bowl of hot water for my son's raman noodles (easy for him to digest). The manager was more than accommodating and promptly had us seated. I ordered another cappuccino and the tuna nicoise salad. All three items were served with a friendly smile with concern for our comfort. My lunch was perfect, seared tuna, lovely salad and dressing. When we asked for the bill, the waiter explained that he had already talked with the manager, Brian Comeau at the front desk and our lunch was complimentary as well.

I have traveled extensively for business for over 30 years, over 20 for family pleasure. It's hard to find a hotel that goes out of its way to make it's guest feel like they are treated with sensitive individuality. I may not have another trip to Boston planned soon, but when I do, this wonderful hotel is a gem and would return again without hesitation. The manager and staff at the Colonnade Hotel made us feel like we were family. Thank you Brian and your wonderful staff for the delightful stay and kind services! Andrea

Room Tip: Had a room away from the street, quiet as pin.

My husband and I chose to go to Boston to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary and stayed at the Colonnade, and what a place to stay! Everyone was so friendly from the moment we stepped out of the shuttle bus to the minute we stepped back in to return home.

We were greeted at reception by the fabulous Juliana, who later had a bottle of Champagne sent to our room so we could celebrate our anniversary, such a lovely touch. In fact, if you had any questions, the staff would bend over backwards to try to help you.

The rooms are ample size with beds so comfy you don't want to get out of them. Added benefit is you can remove stuff from the minibar to fill it yourself with no charge as not sensored.

Location is brilliant, T stop just outside the door, stop for the Old Town Trolley tour just outside the door, shops just over the road, and plenty of excellent restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

I would most certainly recommend The Colonnade to anyone wanting to visit Boston.

This place was in a very convenient and clean location. Service was awesome! I wish the prices were a bit lower, but that is the only negative. Everything about this place is perfect. Trust me! You are in walking distance to so many attractions, including Prudential right across the street and the awesome Cheesecake Factory and 1 block from Copley. We walked to the Blue Man Group in 10 minutes, took subway to Fanuil Hall in 10. Great vacation with so much to do and if you don't know what to do, they have a great Concierge Jerry who will help you.
