We enjoyed this hotel because the T was accessible within walking distance. Overall we had a comfortable stay. The maids forgot to replenish our coffee supply on the second day so we had to wait until 6:30 to get coffee from Starbucks. Very centrally located!

We were put in a room with a king size bed and there was constant construction right outside our window they were dumping gravel all day and night. So we requested to be moved to the other side of the hotel so we could get some sleep. They told us to pack our stuff up bc we were on our way to a scheduled tour and that housekeeping would relocate us. When we got back housekeeping had relocated us to an upgraded room which was very nice of the hotel to do. However this upgraded room had to double beds ours was a king so my husband and I ended up sleeping in separate beds, the AC system in the room was rattling and extremely loud and kept randomly shutting off and we couldn't get the phone in the room to work to call the front desk. It was late and we were exhausted and by the time the move occurred we were leaving the next am so we just dealt with it. But to me if you already have an unhappy guest who was up all night and didn't sleep because of ongoing construction you were aware of and put them in the room anyway when you "upgrade" and move them at least make sure the room is the same room i.e. if we reserved a king put us in a king.

Hotel is pre-historic and definitely needs updating BUT housekeeping staff did their best to keep our room and bathroom as fresh and clean as they could.

Location is out of the way BUT JFK/UMASS T station is within a 3' walk, it runs until late and feels safe.

If you enjoy a morning run, I suggest going to the Harborside Walk!

Rates aren't cheap BUT staying at decent hotels in Boston is never an affordable issue.

Hotel was overbooked during our stay BUT it felt pretty quiet and front desk staff seemed well in control.

This Hotel is not "bay-side" as it advertises. You hear planes flying in 24/7 and when we stayed, there was construction right outside our window from 5am to midnight.

The Hotel does not offer any sort of a free breakfast, even though its brochures and folders make you think that its available. Food is VERY expensive; about $20 for a breakfast sandwich and a cup of so-so oatmeal. Wi-Fi is avaible... for $13 a day. Also, it is not close to anything in Boston except U-Mass and the JFK Library.

There were lights out in our room... the refrigerator didn't work... the fan in the bathroom was broken... the furniture was scratched and dented... the shower head barely sprayed anything and what did come out was pointed at your feet.

The only redeeming quality was the housekeeping staff, which did an awesome job making sure we had more than what we needed every day.

Clean, good location if you are going to U Mass or the JFK Library. Staff was friendly and helpful. Their parking was 12.00 per night and was waived upon request for us. My husband winked at the desk clerk so that might have helped.

I stayed here for one night after the Boston 3Day event. While I was very glad to get to a hotel for a good shower & sleep - - this hotel is not close to the sights of Boston!!

If I was just arriving in Boston to see all of the tourist sights, I would have been disappointed by this location. It is rather removed from the "hub" of Boston being on the south side of the city. The subway is a block away, but it can be very questionable as to the people who hang out. I wouldn't go there at night.

Hotel does not have room service - only a "short order" style of restaurant with a limited menu.

Room was clean

Bed comfortable

Free shuttle to the airport - book ahead.

I have stayed at this Doubletree in Boston Bay area whenever I have business, or family visits in the city. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, and "at home". The room is very clean with comfy bed and nice amenities. As a woman traveling alone, I always feel safe. Would always recommend Doubletree to friends and co-workers visiting Boston.
