DoubleTree Club by Hilton Hotel Boston Bayside
Ranked #62 of 84 Hotels in Boston
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Boston Bayside Doubletree is still a good value for a Boston hotel. It is not in town so if you know the city or have a car it's great. Ask for a newly renovated room. My only complaint is that they charge for internet for each device that signs on. At 12.95 per it's not a good policy when internet is free in a lot of hotels nowadays. When i called to protest it on my bill; we were there less than 24 hours and had two internet charges on the bill they said it's not the hotel but the company that provides the internet. But i think Hilton hotels must make the policy. The hotel itself is good not glamourous but the staff is helpful and pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is newly renovated or on the 4th floor

We arrived late in the day without a booking. The man at the reception was most helpful and courteous. We found the room to be very nice and clean. We were grateful for the bar/snack café as it was pouring rain and we did not want to go out. Would stay here again and recommend the hotel as a convenient place to stay for quick access to the airport.

Customer Service was top notch and very accomendating. We stayed at this location to catch a cruise. We had some change of plans after the crusie and they went out of their way to help us and relieve alot os potential stress.

The hotel is located south of Boston, 5-10 mins walk from the subway, in a neighborhood rather unattractive. It takes about 30 mins to reach the city center. The presentation of the hotel on the website is somewhat exaggerated. It is actually far less luxurious than advertised, howeve with nothing to blame on the most important things, like: courtesy of the staff, cleanliness .. etc.
To improve: Air conditionning. Window-type system, extremely noisy, commands and vents were filthy, and temperature adjustment simply impossible.
The presentation of the restaurant, however, is perfectly dishonest (though it has been changed on the site since my visit, maybe other complaints ?) It is neither more nor less than a take-away, with an extremely limited menu, but with hotel prices, ie in the expensive bucket.Quality is good, however. There is a large area of tables in a part of the lobby, but no real service, no napkin, ...etc
In conclusion: acceptable alternative hotel for a stay in Boston, but dont spend too much on the room rate, it wouldnt be worthing it.

The staff were quite friendly, not overly so but not bad. Biggest downside of this hotel was the lack of free wifi in the bedrooms, especially in this day and age. The room was lovely, bathroom the same, always very clean and plenty of brochures downstairs for Boston info as well as an airport pick up.

The T station was about a 2 minute walk from the hotel which was great but you would need to use it everyday as the hotel was only near to the JFK Library (awesome) - we left the hotel by 8 and returned at 9 most days so being out all day it didn't bother us too much but if you are the type to go back to the hotel during the day it may not suit.

We booked a suite for three night which is $422/night and total $1266 for three night. When we start to use internet and found out that they charge internet by day and number of devises. We have 2 adult and 2 college kids. Each of us have one iPone plus a laptop/iPad which they will charge $100/day ($12.5 X 8) and $300 for three days. That is rediculous. I have to fight for this and I really don't like this experience.

Hi there, were you able to talk to anyone at the Front Desk about this? I certainly hope they explained to you that complimentary internet is available in the Lobby and in the business center. Our Lobby is next to the Marketplace Café and Lobby Bar and provides ample space to relax and work. I am sorry you were unaware of the charges prior to booking.

Free airport shuttle, free shuttle to cruiseport. Train station 3 minute walk. We were well pleased. A nice quiet night before cruise. Cookies are great. Great coffee shop. Would stay here again, and recommend to friends.
