The Harborside Inn is one of those rare finds that combines unique architecture and charm in a terrific location. The hotel, which was built in the 1840s, is on State Street about a block from Long Wharf and the aquarium. The rooms have the original brick walls, tall ceilings and lots of natural light (either from sky lights in the atrium or from the outside windows (depending on whether or not you have an atrium room). Though the rooms are quaint with a bit of an old world nautical motif, the bathrooms are completely modern. There's always hot coffee and tea available in the lobby as well as several computers for internet access. At all times of the day or night you will find plenty of restaurants and bars and Boston's history and site seeing are right outside the door.

Room Tip: In the summer atrium rooms on the upper floors can be quite warm, try for a lower floor or ask the s...

We stayed here for a weekend getaway. We wanted something downtown, near the Fanueil Market area, as we didn't feel like renting a car and dealing with parking. This hotel had a good price and looked nice. We were very pleased. The hotel is 50 feet from the Aquarium T-line station. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms large, clean and modern. Note that our room did not have bathtub- just a shower, so if that is a requirement for you, check with the hotel if they have them. I will note that the lobby furniture probably could use a refresh. It just looks worn. The staff was friendly, but I don't think they have too many folks on duty at any one time. If you're looking for a doorman to get you a cab or a concierge to make dinner reservations for you, I think you need to choose another hotel AND pay the higher rate to get those services. For you self-sufficient travelers looking for a good deal on a good location in Boston, I recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Very spacious rooms. CD and DVD player.

Great location near Quincy Market and others. Clean and comfortable room recently renovated. Would recommend!

Room Tip: If you need a room with a bathtub you have to ask most rooms are with a shower.

This hotel was a little different from most hotels in that there is no food and beverage service aside from coffee in the lobby. There is also no bellman service so you have to take your own bags to the room. You can use the cart in the lobby. The room and the hotel in general were immaculate, rooms looked like they were recently furnished and very nicely done. The rooms were quite comfortable and functional. The hotel is located just steps away from Quincy Market, the aquarium and a subway stop. With so many restaurants nearby you don't have to worry about a taxi to get to dinner. I had only two small issues with this hotel. Their computer platform was not compatible with my company's network so I was unable to use the computers to access my email. The other issue was the fabric sofas in the lobby. The leather sofas are fine but the fabric ones are very dirty and I would not sit on them. This was really inconsistent with the rest of the hotel since everything was very clean but the sofas either need to be replaced or recovered. They really do look bad.

Can't recommend this place enough! Once you park your car, you don't need to get it until you are ready to leave. We could walk to Quincy Market, Fanueil Hall, and the Freedom Trail easily....the accomodations are wonderful. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a beautifully placed location...this is it!

Reserved this at the last minute, all the reviews were pretty good so we took a chance. When we got there, we were pleasantly suprised at the location and the cleanliness of the hotel. It is centrally located to all of the Boston sights, and the room was very modern and clean. The bathrooms are especially nice and VERY clean. Definately would recommend this to anyone looking for a great hotel in a convenient location! Front desk staff was very accomodating as well.

We stayed here for three nights. The hotel is located very close to the Quincy Market which is a centre of many shops and pubs, as the weather was fine, many people were on the street. The hotel seemed to be well booked, we enjoyed the stay even though we only had a room with a window to the inner courtyard with a roof on it. So there was no possibility for fresh air except the modest air conditioning in the room. The shower needed to be decalcified, but everything was clean. Unfortunately we had no minibar, but there are two 24/7 shops near the hotel, plus many pubs. The hotel offers complimentary WiFi, coffee and tea the whole day. Parking is available with a 20% discount at 75 State Street which is about 250 metres from the hotel. A travel guide is in the room to be used during the stay. We enjoyed it to be so close to the centre, financial district, harbour! Compared to the room we got, the price is too high! But maybe that's just because it's Boston?!
