The Midtown is in a perfect location for tourist visitors. The hotel had on site parking and close to Bostons excellent public transport system, so you can leave the car and avoid the notorious traffic problems.
We were two couples and took the "Freedom Trail" package at $220 for room, free parking and breakfast plus the guided "freedom trail" walking tour. The second night was at a reduced rate of $135 plus tax.
We had a two day trolly pass which we bought in the hotel lobby and the trolly stop was only two blocks or so away.
The hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful, however it is very dated in the finishes and fixtures. The location more than anything else makes a stay here very worth while and the cost is substantially less than the "name" hotels neareby.

Room Tip: We had rooms over the front entrance and had a good view but was noisy with traffic early in the mor...

This hotel rates excellent on location and price. This hotel rates average on fit, finish and sleep quality. The hotel could not be in a better location and a good value (we paid $125 per night). However the walls are paper thin and the bedding and towels could use some updating. There are many school groups which stay here so often it can be loud. We had plenty of room in the bedroom but the bathrooms were very small. If you are looking for cheap and convenient then this is for you. If you are looking for a four star (or even a three star) expierence with fluffy towels and bedding then do not stay here because you will be disappointed. You can walk to the L, buses, many colleges and an easy cab ride to the rest of the city.

Had great experience with this hotel.

First time to Boston and it wont be the last.

Room was very large staff was excellent. had early check in and late check out.

Everything we wanted to do in Boston is within walking distance from this hotel and it was the right price considering what other places nearby ask for.

Only thing that needed improvement was the bathtub as it was renovated with a liner. water was stuck between original tub and liner and it seemed like you were standing on a water bed in order to take a shower. small hiccup but since my girlfriend and i only take showers this was a non issue.

I would definitely stay here if the price is still right.

Conviniently located at Huntington Avenue this Hotel is a true Value for money. The hotel has 159 rooms on 2 floors. All rooms have an ironing board & equipped with Electric irons.

The good points :

1. Excellent location. 5 minute walk from Symphony Metro station on one side and Prudential Metro on the other side.

2. Fairly large rooms which is neat and brightly lit & has large storage space. The bath room & wash room is pretty small but neat. ( Wish they were little bigger )

3. Friendly & courteous staff. The manager , Mark ,has a pleasing personality with a nice demenour.

The "Not So good points " ( Scope for improvements ) :

1. The way to the rooms is a little troublesome. One needs to climb a flight of stairs almost to a mezanine height to get on to the 1st level of room floors. So if you have heavy luggage , then be ready to haul it up . However there is a Bell Desk and at times they lend a helping hand.

2. It has old , archaic lifts which takes forever to open and close & takes forever to climb up or go down just ONE LEVEL !!

3. There is no mini bar in the rooms.

4. No food in the hotel. You need to carry food back to your room ( many eateries / restaurants nearby, including a food court at the Prudential Center ) or order online for delivery .There is one "Pizza slice" vending machine on the 2nd floor which didnt work for a single day of the nine days I lived there .There is , however a coffee making machine in the room & thats about it ! There are few icecream & Aerated drinks vending machines in both the floors.

5. Noisy overhead exhaust fan fitted in all bathrooms which doesnt have a separate switch if you don't want it.There is just one switch & if you dont want the exhaust ...you dont get the light on !!

Conclusion :

Will I ever go back to this hotel ....on might ask !! And the answer is YES !!

Room Tip: All the road facing rooms are nice and bright ( 2nd floor )

We've visited the Midtown Hotel in Boston during our trip through Canada & U.S.A. in the summer of 2012.

We were surprised by the size of the room, which was very big and had 2 big beds. The room looked pretty old, and was a bit dusty, but overall it was clean. The bathroom was also pretty small and old, but clean.

The hotel had a nice pool in the center of the building, especially during the extremely hot summer it was great to take a nice dive into the pool after a long day in the city of Boston. The location of the hotel was great, on walkin distance of all the man atractions in Boston and close to the big shopping mall.

A few months aftwer we've visited the hotel we also found out that the hotel was shown in the movie "Ted", it was very funny to see this. The hotel isn't that bad as been said in the movie.

The Midtown Hotel is great value. We chose it because it was a good price and the location meant that all of Boston was in easy reach. The train station is a minutes walk away, the shopping mall and restaurants about 5 minutes walk away, and it is walkable to Boston common area.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms, although not what you would call luxury, have everything we needed - a comfy bed, a good shower, a tv, a coffee machine and plenty of space.
All in all, we would recommend it and would stay here again.

This hotel is very quiet and close to the main spots of Boston, at 5 minutes of the prudential metro station. Comfortable and clean rooms. The service is excellent, especially when Shane the awesome is there!
