“Great Stay”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

My wife and I stayed one night at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. Room was very clean and quiet. Location of this Hotel for the price is a total bargain in Boston. General Manager was very professional and very friendly. Front Desk personnel were the friendliest and most helpful I have ever experienced. Highly recommend this hotel when staying in Boston. Close to Fenway Park and the T-stop.....can literally get anywhere in the city with great ease.

Stayed at this Hotel as an inclusive part of a USA tour.

Location is good and that's about it. No food or drink available. Dowdy room. T.V. not working. Light bulbs not replaced.. Room not well serviced by chambermaid. One section of hotel apparently occupied by long-term student redidents. Do not know other Boston hotels but there must be better than this ghastly place.

Room Tip: Cannot do this

The wife and I chose this hotel do the proximity of Fenway Park. We stood there for one night to go to the last game of the season at Fenway. We know what to look for when we stay anywhere because we own a motel across from an amusement park in New Hampshire. The Hotel was very easy to get to and the parking lot was well lite and secure. The person that checked us in has to be the most friendliest person that has every waited on us. The room was very clean and organized and the flat screen tv and bed were up to date. Something that we do ourselves. What gives this Hotel value is it's proximation to area events. We walked back and forth to the park without having to drive in traffic. We know it must be very expensive doing business in the city of Boston, so we did expect to pay more. Paying close to 300 dollars for one night, and if we wanted a fridge or internet service it was going to be extra, seemed kind of excessive to us. We still recommend staying there versus getting stuck in traffic because it's clean and the convienent.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The rooms were serviced daily and the staff were very friendly and helpful expecially Ron on the front desk and Greg and Connie who ran the conciege desk.

Public transport was only a short walk either way to get to the subway.

This hotel has seen better days but is in a really good location in the city. The room we had at the back was surprisingly large by European standards and quiet at night. There is no restaurant so you have to go out for breakfast (we used the nearby Prudential Tower food court), but for dinner nearby Newbury Street has several outstanding places to eat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if possible as they are quieter

We stayed here for four nights recently. The pros are that the location is fantastic, right in the heart of Boston near tons of restaurants and public transportation with the Colonnade two blocks up with a discount for their fabulous food, the customer service is really strong, the shuttle is less than a taxi, and it's cheaper than any other area hotel. However, the cons are that it still cost us about $185 a night for what would normally be considered motel-quality. This hotel had so much potential with a bit of renovation that it was depressing to see how poorly appointed, dimly lit, and how few amenities it had. Our door actually hit the light when you opened it. It did have a coffee maker, daily housekeeping, a pizza vending machine in the hall, and an extremely comfortable bed. Our room had a view of an alleyway and was very dark. It was a little grimy feeling, with old paint and a weird room layout. The hallways are mismarked and labyrinthine, but I thought this was funny more than anything. Also, the elevators are ancient, tiny, and there's just nothing to do in this hotel. It's more like a $60-$80 motel you stay while on a road trip. Would I stay there again? Yes, because there's nothing else in area at this price and it wasn't a "bad" hotel per se. It just wasn't a place you would go to stay in the hotel itself other than to sleep. If anyone ever decided to put some money into this place and renovate it, I can easily see it turning into a real beauty.

Very good location and clean but needs lots of money spending on it. Spent 3 days here in Sept. 2012 and was given a very bad impression at first. Rooms not facing the street are dark and a bit dingy with bathrooms that really need some up dating. Apparently the land is owned by the church directly opposite(Christian Scientists) and they won't extend the lease and the hotel will not spend money. Swimming pool and dining all closed but plenty of choice nearby.

Room Tip: Need to get one with a big window at the front. Room 110.
