Marriott Vacation Club Pulse at Custom House, Boston

Certificate of Excellence

My wife and I absolutely love the Custom House. We've been staying there for well over a decade and during just about every time of the year. The location really can't be beat (although it is a bit more of a challenge for the next two years because the Government Center stop on the MBTA is closed and so although the Aquarium stop on the Blue Line is just a few steps away, you often need to make transfers to get where you want to go that are less convenient than they had been).

The staff is welcoming, friendly, and exceptionally helpful. There are many nice amenities including excellent entertainment in the evenings in the historic Counting Room (where customs were collected accounting, at one time, for 20% of the revenue of the United States). Each of the rooms is essentially a suite with a master bedroom, bathroom and a living room/dining room/kitchen. But because of its location, the "kitchen" is small--there's a small sink, a small refrigerator and a microwave (along with glasses, dishes and utensils). However, many people would not expect to cook at all. There is continental breakfast available in the Counting Room (the coffee and tea are free throughout the day) and there are innumerable restaurants within a few blocks of the Custom House including restaurants in the famous North End and in the Fanueil Hall Marketplace which is just steps away. There are excellent views of the harbor and of the Marketplace and North End and beyond from many rooms and the observation deck on the 26th floor is a gem. The staff offers excellent tours of the building itself that include attention to its long and storied history.

My husband booked a room for me at the Custom House while I was working in Boston, and it was such a treat! The room has 2 floors, a comfortable queen-sized bed on the upper loft, dining area and kitchen bar with an elegant sitting room on the lower floor. Beautiful drapes adorn the tall windows overlooking the city. Also enjoyed the movie about Boston and its history in their cozy 6-person theater. You could even put your feet up on an overstuffed ottoman and watch the show! The observation deck was unfortunately closed because of ice on the deck, but I was able to gaze at the city and nearby Charlestown from the windows.

I have stayed in the one bed apartments with fab views out over Boston Harbour. It is truly a 5* experience. The concierge is truly fantastic and no request is too small or too big. The location is next to Quincy Market and the Freedom Trail. There is history and great sites as well as comfort and freedom In your own space. Will be back next year.

My husband & teenage daughter & I stayed here for a week over spring break & loved it. Great location with may dining options right across the street at Quincey Market, as well as a good breakfast at a reasonable price available in the dining room. The location is ideal with incredible views & the "T" nearby. Actually, most everything is within walking distance. The concierge service was wonderfully helpful & so friendly, in fact everyone at the hotel was incredibly helpful & friendly. We stayed here by using our timeshare & had a suite on the 14th floor that included a living room with pull out sofa, kitchenette, one bathroom & a very pretty bedroom. Being from California it was cool to stay someplace that felt quintessentially Bostonian. You must go up to the observatory & experience the views, they are breathtaking! The clock tower can be seen from so many different locals that you can never really get lost & for those of of us who might be somewhat directionally challenged this is a really good thing! We would love to come back to the Custom House & visit Boston, our new favorite city (!) again, very soon! Oh, btw, don't miss out on the complimentary fresh baked cookies in the late afternoon - a nice treat after a long day of sightseeing!

There is no better place to stay in the City of Boston than the Marriott Custom House. Marriott does it right, and the staff there does it right also. Always the customer first. When you arrive you always get first class treatment at check in and the concierge is always there to accommodate any of your needs in and around downtown Boston and the surrounding areas. The view is spectacular and every room is a one bedroom suite with first class accommodations. This is not a hotel, it is a home away from home where you don't have to clean up.

Great rooms with wonderful views. Beds out of this world so comfortable typical of Marriott. All areas of the hotel including the villa were spotlessly clean. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside of our stay there was the noises from the street even though we were on the 8th floor, but that will not stop us from returning hopefully.

Room Tip: Always ask for a high floor

I have stayed here at least five times and have enjoyed it very time. Built in 1849 to serve as the custom house in Boston and recently converted to One bedroom apartments by Marriott . Although not a full service hotel they do have a small breakfast area and bar area with limited hours. Guests do get access to the Marriott Long Wharf facilities across the street .

The building stands adjacent to The Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market and one block from the waterfront and Aquarium. It is a very short walk to the North End and dozens of very good restaurants .

The rooms are large with very high ceilings , a separate sitting area and dining area. There is not a full kitchen but a microwave ,fridge and sink did us just fine.

Room Tip: Rooms on the East view the ocean. Rooms on the North view Quincy market which is loud when the bars...
