I couldn't think of a better place to stay in Boston. Especially if you want to spend the majority of your time around the area (aquarium, little italy, or the Black Rose pub), it's all within walking distance. The room was amazing, we had an excellent view of the city and it was quiet. Also, you can go to the top and there is an observatory on the top roof! I would definitley choose this place over Marriott's Long Wharf next door.

Room Tip: Higher the room, the better

The Custom House is a Timeshare owned by Marriott. We are not timeshare owners, but if you are wiling to get away sometime in the dead of winter, you would be lucky enough to sleep at the Customs House. We went for my husband's birthday and stayed here 3 nights. Wow! Beautiful place. Right across the street from Fanueil Hall and very close to the North End not to mention the T stations. The rates were very reasonable too.

The hotel is an historic landmark in the city in a very interesting spot. The main reason for booking at this hotel was the advertised observation deck… to my disappointment none of the days I was at the hotel the deck was open. One day they said the floor was icy (but wasn't), the other they said it was due to weather (even though it was sunny) and it went on and on… When I descended to the front desk to really complain they said the city administration that regulated if the deck should be opened or not, I asked if they called on sunday morning and said 'do not open today' and the front desk agent hesitated. Next time in Boston I will definitely stay somewhere else to enjoy the view.

Room Tip: Try a high floor with a view to the water since this will probably be the only observation spot you...

Used one of our expiring timeshare weeks we had banked in Interval International. Spent 4 days here and had a Wonderful time. This hotel and historic building is perfectly located to most of Boston's attractions. The Room was nice and large on the 17th Floor #1704, we asked for a handicap room. It had some issues: no heat, broken table and lamp, but still was a Great stay. They offered different things to do each day , cheese and wine and music in the lounge daily, hot ciedr in the evenings, and a friendly staff. I recommend it for a few days away.

Room Tip: Get a handicap room they are larger

I only stayed here for one night but I had a great time! Concierge were friendly, the hotel was conveniently located close to the Quincy Markets and a short walk to downtown. Beds were super comfortable and the view from the top was an added bonus!

As Marriott owners we have been dying to stay at the Custom Hpuse, but didn't really want a whole week in Boston. So, when we found a Valentine's weekend there, we snapped it up. The location was spectacular, easy walking all over town, which made is easy to walk to our Tony Bennett concert. The rooms were very quintessential Marriott, great beds, bathrooms kitchens, but what makes this a cut above is the fact that it really was the custom house, so the decor is amazing. Best of all was the observation deck with great views of the city and the harbor. Also an easy walk to the North End for dinner. The proximity to Quincy Market allowed to get to the Today Show which appeared early Friday morning--what fun! The staff was amazing, and a special touch for Valentine's Day was the chocolate and champagne. We can't wait to return.
