This hotel is well worth the stellar reviews. Located in Boston's prime neighborhood, Beacon Hill, it is walking distance to main touristic, business and shopping sites, and has easy connections to public transportation, including the "T" to the airport.
There are other hotels with same attractions, but what sets this one apart is the attentive yet unobtrusive service, and the classy modern decor and amenities. It is a small hotel which makes you feel like coming back to your own apartment in Boston. It is a quiet place and the beds are heavenly comfortable! I will certainly come back here when I return to this beautiful city.

We spent three nights in this hotel and only ever received the most courteous and friendly service at all times. We were greeted each time we returned to the hotel and made to feel welcome. Any questions we had were answered efficiently and help offered. Although we didn't use the bar in the room, it was incredibly well stocked. The towels were soft and very white. The room decor was a nice blend of modern and comfort with no jarring colours. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily use it again.

Everything about our 4 night stay here was perfect. We came with our two teenage sons and per the reservationist suggestion booked a corner studio. It provided us with ample room, great amenities, and super comfy beds. The best thing about staying here besides the hip factor, was the exceptional concierge service! All of the staff helped to make it a special trip!

We really couldn't find much fault with the XV Beacon. It's in a good location at the top end of Boston Common - on a busy street where it's noisy during the day but quiet at night so you get a good night's sleep. The staff were all welcoming, pleasant and polite. The rooms were very comfortable, and delightful in appearance with one major problem - no blinds at all, with no privacy - so unless you wanted to walk around in full view of the office workers across the street with a perfect view into your room, you had to keep the curtains closed. If you want to dine in the restaurant attached to the hotel you have to make a reservation, there is no priority system if you are a guest in the hotel. We wanted dinner one night but despite asking to help us get a reservation the front desk said they couldn't as the restaurant had nothing to do with the hotel, which was rather curious . This is an expensive hotel and I think if you are paying this amount you possibly might want all the services that go with a luxury hotel - that said, these were two niggles in what was essentially a very pleasant stay.

XV Beacon was an amazing surprise! As a native Bostonian, it was a pleasure to stay at XV Beacon. I will never stay anywhere else in Boston again. This hotel trumps the Taj and Four Seasons by miles. The service was superior to any hotel service in the world and when I left it felt like family!

My husband and I stayed at XV Beacon on a recent trip to Boston and believe this hotel to be one of the best we have ever stayed in. From the doorman to the front desk staff the service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and more than willing to assist us with directions and reservations and anything else we required. The rooms are truly beautiful and the working fireplace was such a treat on a frosty Boston evening. We also had the opportunity to dine at 'Moo" the hotel's restaurant and everything was delicious. the package we booked included breakfast which we chose to take in our room - it was delivered promptly and was of the highest quality. This hotel is worth every cent it costs to stay here

This is my third time staying at XV Beacon. It's a great small hotel with personalized service in a great location downtown. The prices are pretty steep though so I would say that unless you want to stay at a unique full service small boutique hotel, you might be better off looking elsewhere. If you stay here be sure to try the neighboring Scollay Square restaurant if you like bloody mary's. They have a make your own bloody mary bar!

The good: the hotel has a warm cozy feel, staff is very polite and courteous; rooms are unlike any others that I've been in, for example: stereo system with built in speakers throughout the room, working gas fireplace, tastefully decorated as if you are in someone's home, electronic do not disturb/clean my room signal so you don't have to fiddle with door hangars, good size flat screen TV, jacuzzi bathtub; real flowers in the bathroom; nice towels; towel heater in bathroom; TV in bathroom; very nice headboard or four poster bed (depending on what type of room you get); free parking if you have a Lexus and free use of the hotel Lexus with driver who can take you around town as needed; they provide complimentary business cards with your hotel address on them; nightly turn down service; very good restaurant downstairs (Mooo); free wireless internet that's pretty fast; complimentary fruit in the hallways.

The OK: the bath products are just so-so, bathtub drained slowly, television in bathroom is a nice touch however it doesn't work (said "no signal"); shower partition leaked a fair amount of water on the floor after taking a shower, elevators could use some freshening up (carpet, walls, and buttons are worn).

The Bad: nothing
