“Beautiful Hotel”
Reviewed July 12, 2014

Really glad we chose to stay here! It was a beautiful looking hotel, excellent staff and fabulous location. It was a pleasant and do-able walk into the city along the harbour even though there is a shuttle bus which also takes you near to Quincy Market.
The rooms were of a high standard with superb views. The no tip policy was a breath of fresh air coming from a Brit who tires of the constant tip culture of the US. The restaurant was good value and the bar a lovely place to spend time in!
Couldn't fault this hotel - excellent!

We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel. Parking is right at the hotel and we were able to walk everywhere. Lots of places to eat and lots of activities nearby. We used the Harborwalk to walk to the Aquarium and Quincey Market. Great views of the water. We will definitely stay again on our trips to Boston. Staff was helpful and very friendly. Hotel has a bar, and a few places to eat. It's definitely a great value for the price.

One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything was top notch. As an older senior it would have been much better for us if we had been nearer the historic district. This area seems to have a lot of clubs that would appeal to a younger crowd. The restaurants around this hotel all seem to have long waitings lines which was not true of the Quincy Market area. Views of the harbor from the room are limited.

Good location,on the south waterfront and walking distance to the conference center. It's walking distance to the T subway entrance, and on the subway line to the airport (actually, the Silver line is a bus, but is direct to the airport). There are 16 floors, the first 3 being lobby and facilities, and attached garage below. Hotel is aligned east-west, so most rooms face either south or north.

It has a large and well-furnished fitness center, including machines, free weights, running, and massage capabilities. The pool is a good size rectangle and set up to allow swimming laps.

The front desk is understaffed/undersized when a large number of guests need to be served. They should have more elevators because when the hotel is approaching capacity, there are typically long waits for the next elevator. When we were there, over the Independence Day weekend (and beyond, as we stayed 8 days) there was a Panamanian convention/reunion. They overwhelmed the elevators and the infrastructure couldn't keep pace.

The rooms are nice. We had two double beds (more typical is a single king). My wife and I stayed with our daughter, and we had room to accommodate each of us. The bathroom is modern and clean, with good water pressure, though could benefit from a second sink. (But to be fair, my teenage daughter was in a dance competition and sort of took over the bathroom prep area with her dance "infrastructure".) The beds were welcome; firm and supportive, allowing for a good sleep.

We didn't eat in the restaurants on site, or drink at the bar, so cannot comment.

Overall it has good accommodation and services for a 4 star hotel. I didn't perceive 4-star luxury, so value would be in the eye of the beholder. We got a good rate so were satisfied, but at standard walk-in rate, I would start to question value for money, given the 4-star rating.

If you want to be in the Waterfront area and feel taken care of, this is the hotel. There is a no tipping policy and everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms have been beautifully and tastefully remodeled. I loved the large shower with rainforest and handshower settings, the foot rest for shaving, the tall sliding glass doors, and tile work. Bicycle rental is complimentary and I cycled around the city for two days. The place is walking distance to so many nice restaurants, cafes, and attractions. I would highly recommend this place for business and vacation.

it was perfect in every way. the Seaport district is a great area of Boston. Wonderful harbor views and places to eat on the harbor. the hotel was perfect in every way. the pool & fitness center are first rate. the breakfast buffet was quite a indulgence. Fresh fruit infused water everyday at the fitness area. Very comfy fuzzy robes. we had a harbor view room and we didn't want to leave! Can't wait to return.

After a long a grueling flight into Boston for a business trip I encountered what stands out as the singular most inefficient front desk staff that I've ever encountered in my 20+ years of travel. The basics of customer service were completely lost on all of them. Overall the property is a class B hotel. Nothing special here. If you enjoy run of the mill conference style hospitality this is the place for you. Typical dark lobby, unattended concierge stand, long check in lines, recently updated rooms that don't actually look updated at all and chintzy bath amenities. I actually don't mind the hum drumness that defines this hotel but the real killer here is the absolute ineptness in customer service. Perhaps I just caught a bad shift but I don't think that's the case. True world class hotels have front desk staffs that are empowered to put the guest first and ensure they have a seamless experience -- the Seaport staff have clearly had no such training. If you travel here and you encounter a challenge and need help from the front desk I would not be surprised if they were not able to provide you with a thoughtful solution. Outside of their script about the property and the amenities which they parrot off during the check-in they are clueless.

Your frustration is abundantly clear and we apologize for contributing to it after a grueling flight. Perhaps the combination of your travel ordeal and check-in experience influenced your perception of your entire stay and we can appreciate that perspective. Unfortunately with the credit and debit cards presented in your husband’s name and your identity in your maiden name, we needed a credit card authorization, which is often obtained via e-mail or fax. We are not comfortable charging a credit card in another person’s name without authorization; unfortunately this must have felt like a challenge to your integrity and that was never our intention. It was an awkward situation for all and we sincerely regret how uncomfortable things became in reaching a resolution. Please accept our most sincere apology if our word choice or body language contributed to that impression in any way. We do hope that in the future, you may consider returning to Seaport and provide us a second chance to earn your trust and respect.

Kind regards,
