We stayed here over a Saturday night and arrived a little after 2 p.m. Room wasn't ready, but we were a bit early so walked into Chinatown and had lunch. Front desk asked for cell phone # and stated they would call when room was ready, and kept our luggage for us. By the time we finished lunch, walked thru Boston Commons, and stopped for espresso, it was after 4 p.m. (I believe check-in time is 3 p.m.) and no phone call yet, so headed back to hotel. Check-in was much busier - bit of a wait. When it was our turn, front desk staff did not know if room was ready or not, and tried to call housekeeping to confirm. We ended up waiting another 15 - 20 mins. before they could confirm it was in fact ready. We were offered a glass of champagne while waiting, but after keeping us standing there for another 20 mins, it would have been nice if they offered another. During wait, desk staff asked if we wanted our bags brought up to room or if we wanted to take them ourselves. As we only had 1 bag (and a 12 pack of beer), we said we'd take it. After finally getting checked in, front desk said they'd have a bellman bring it up, even though we previously said we'd take it. Elevators were very busy..and a little slow. Room was very nice though, junior suite (w/ frig), very clean, and AC worked great. Was a little leary of the junior suites as all are located near elevators, but noise wasn't an issue at all. Overall it was very quiet, never even heard anyone in hallways. After being in the room for about 20 - 30 mins. our bag still hadn't showed up...so had to call guest services. Waited another 10 mins. or so, and still hadn't arrived, so got in elevator to go down to front desk...when doors opened in lobby, there must've been about 40 people in a line all waiting for the elevators! Figured it was easier to just get back on the elevator at this point, and by the time I got back upstairs, bags had arrived. TV's, Ipod docking station, frig - all worked nice. Robes, slippers, and shampoos and conditioners were really nice. Forgot bag at home that had our toiletries in it, called guest services and toothbrushes and toothpaste brought up right away. Location is great, went up to the roof-top pool and lounge, which was very nice, but not alot of places to sit, as most tables had 'reserved' signs on them. They def. could use more seating. Drinks were good, not cheap, but not outrageous. Then a few spots on Bolyston, before ending the night at the Top of the Hub, which was awesome. When we got back to room, there was a bottle of champagne along with a beautiful glass tray of huge chocolate-covered strawberries with a handwritten note wishing me a Happy 50th b-day. So that really made up for any of the minor bumps we encountered. I would definitely stay there again.
