“almost perfect...but hit a few minor bumps over B-day weekend visit”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We stayed here over a Saturday night and arrived a little after 2 p.m. Room wasn't ready, but we were a bit early so walked into Chinatown and had lunch. Front desk asked for cell phone # and stated they would call when room was ready, and kept our luggage for us. By the time we finished lunch, walked thru Boston Commons, and stopped for espresso, it was after 4 p.m. (I believe check-in time is 3 p.m.) and no phone call yet, so headed back to hotel. Check-in was much busier - bit of a wait. When it was our turn, front desk staff did not know if room was ready or not, and tried to call housekeeping to confirm. We ended up waiting another 15 - 20 mins. before they could confirm it was in fact ready. We were offered a glass of champagne while waiting, but after keeping us standing there for another 20 mins, it would have been nice if they offered another. During wait, desk staff asked if we wanted our bags brought up to room or if we wanted to take them ourselves. As we only had 1 bag (and a 12 pack of beer), we said we'd take it. After finally getting checked in, front desk said they'd have a bellman bring it up, even though we previously said we'd take it. Elevators were very busy..and a little slow. Room was very nice though, junior suite (w/ frig), very clean, and AC worked great. Was a little leary of the junior suites as all are located near elevators, but noise wasn't an issue at all. Overall it was very quiet, never even heard anyone in hallways. After being in the room for about 20 - 30 mins. our bag still hadn't showed up...so had to call guest services. Waited another 10 mins. or so, and still hadn't arrived, so got in elevator to go down to front desk...when doors opened in lobby, there must've been about 40 people in a line all waiting for the elevators! Figured it was easier to just get back on the elevator at this point, and by the time I got back upstairs, bags had arrived. TV's, Ipod docking station, frig - all worked nice. Robes, slippers, and shampoos and conditioners were really nice. Forgot bag at home that had our toiletries in it, called guest services and toothbrushes and toothpaste brought up right away. Location is great, went up to the roof-top pool and lounge, which was very nice, but not alot of places to sit, as most tables had 'reserved' signs on them. They def. could use more seating. Drinks were good, not cheap, but not outrageous. Then a few spots on Bolyston, before ending the night at the Top of the Hub, which was awesome. When we got back to room, there was a bottle of champagne along with a beautiful glass tray of huge chocolate-covered strawberries with a handwritten note wishing me a Happy 50th b-day. So that really made up for any of the minor bumps we encountered. I would definitely stay there again.

Carol G, thank you so much for your feedback about your stay with us at The Revere Hotel. Im sorry to hear about your issues at check-in, that is certainly not the normal or really acceptable. I have addressed your feedback with my Director of Front Office and he has already put in motion to rectify this situation to be sure it does not happen. Im glad to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your Jr Suite that is conveniently located near the elevators. The Rooftop at Revere chairs, like most hotel properties, are on a first come, first serve basis and on the weekend they do certainly fill up faster then during the week. But I am happy to inform you that we just created a Guest Only seating patio on our Private Event Roofdeck which is just on the other side of the pool at the Rooftop at Revere. There is more seating and accommodations exclusively just for our hotel guests! Hopefully you will make it back here this summer and have the opportunity to check out the great views from that patio as well!

Warm Regards,

My girlfriends were flying in for a long weekend and I booked the Revere Hotel for the first night before heading to my house on the ocean. What a pleasant surprise to find this place! It exceeded my expectations. The in and out valet parking service was perfect since they were arriving 4 hours apart. The check in was wonderful, between the champagne welcome cocktail (shouldn't EVERY hotel have this amenity??) and the warm and friendly staff.
We went up to the rooftop bar and had a delightful vodka lemonade (suggested by the bartender on the 95 degree day!) and enjoyed the seating and views! The room was updated and had 2 very comfortable queen beds (not so easy to find in Boston) and aesthetically pleasing decor. It also had a balcony. We ended the evening with a nightcap in the Emerald Lounge after checking out a fun piano bar in the financial district (Howl at the Moon - so much fun!!) that the girl checking us in recommended. I am looking forward to taking my boyfriend here in the future for a romantic weekend. The only negative I can think of was the hallway on the 14th floor smelled of vomit. However there's not much they could have done except clean it best they can and wait for the odor to air out.

JaxHart, thank you so much for your fantastic comments about the hotel! We are happy you found us too! You are correct with your statement referring to our double queen bedded rooms, it is certainly a rarity in any hotel, never mind a city property! It is certainly one of our more exclusive offerings here at The Revere Hotel. In regards to your comment about the carpet, thank you for your optimism, cleanliness is a top priority for us and the issue has been addressed, we try to tend to these issues as soon as possible, certainly before other guests are inconvenienced. But again thank you so much for your review! We look forward to your return and please contact me to I can assist with making that future reservation extra special and romantic for you and your boyfriend!

Whoever planned the accommodations of The Revere Hotel truly thought of everything. From custom pillow choices and "rain" shower to the plethora of shampoo, soap and conditioner options, this hotel is one of the most comfortable I've ever stayed in.The bed and pillows were perfect, the location was ideal for my needs and the service was impeccable. The "Loft" meeting space was also impressive and served our group's needs very well indeed.

shel904, thank you for your great rating! Our Loft meeting space really is one of a kind and I am so happy to hear that you had the opportunity to experience it! In addition to our Loft space we also have Theatre 1 and Space 57 two of the rarest event spaces in Boston! The next time you come to visit, I certainly would recommend checking them out! Everything from movie screenings to weddings happen in both of these unique spaces! We look forward to hosting your next convention soon!

This hotel has two queen size beds which is a must for us when traveling. Not full size beds, but Queen. The rooms are modern, very comfortable, and quiet, with new decor, bathrooms and beds. The only drawbacks were no mini-fridge, and the a/c hum bothered my teenage son. The hum did not bother my husband or myself, as we quickly tuned it out since it's a consistant hum. The hotel is a tall tower, and if you want a real view, ask for the highest floors. There are also two balconies at each end of each floor so you can always go up to look at the views.

From what I gathered, the hotel was recently renovated after being bought. It's a lovely hotel, with a lively second floor bar / night spot that seems to cater to a late night crowd; and a beautiful pool deck atop their garage roof (floor 7) with cabanas for shade, and two open air bars (it closes at 10pm though). The indoor heated pool was filled with families over the July 4th weekend and the hotel was packed. However, the only place you noticed that the hotel was full was the pool and outdoor deck. The service was always pleasant, there is free wifi throughout the hotel, and if you are driving, a tiered garage for guests (you have to pay to park though). They also offer a pillow menu for those who want foam or down or hypoallergenic pillows.

The hotel is located just off the Commons. There are lots of eateries near by and a slew of restaurants as well. Getting a cab takes seconds. Walking to the Commons is just a five minute stroll past the swanboats.

The biggest drawback was the hallway had a bad smell that seemed to come and go. I would have written this off except other reviewers had written about a similar smell, so it might be imbedded in the hall carpet. The smell was NOT noticeable in the room, but we did try and walk as fast as possible to get from the elevator to our room.

The issues some folks wrote about the noise of the toilet flushing was quite funny. The hotel is "green." The flush is a flush sound, fast and over. No big deal at all, not even for my sound conscious son. We liked the wall mounted and shower mounted shampoos, lotions and soaps.

If a consistant hum from the a/c won't bother you (it didn't bother my husband or me at all; in fact, after the first few minutes I never even heard it), then this is a great place to stay as the hotel is modern, clean and has a fabulous location.

I had a 2 night stay recently for a company meeting. The Revere hotel was very nice. All the food we had through the meeting area was very good. The hotel is modern in design. The bed was super
Comfortable with a good amount of space for working at the desk area. The only exception to excellence was that when I stepped out into the hallway it was very hot, however the room itself and the meeting areas were fine. This location provides a good spot from which to go explore a historic city.

Was in town for a conference at the Hines Convention Center. This hotel is a bit far from there, but it centrally located to many tourist areas like Boston Common. The best restaurants in the area are a bit farther, so the location of the hotel isn't ideal.

The room was very clean and the lobby had a modern feel, and smelled great! We didn't encounter any service needs, but upon checkin the front desk staff was very friendly.

The Revere is an excellent hotel for any type of trip to Boston. Formerly the Radisson hotel, the Revere has completely redone the hotel, so it's very modern and clean. The staff is very helpful, and there is free champagne at the front desk when you check in. The rooms are large, well designed, and the bathrooms have pumps filled with soap, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, which is very convenient. A large parking garage is attached to the hotel, so parking is easy and close ($40/day). The hotel is very well located in Boston's Back Bay area, adjacent to the theater district. The one drawback is the lack of a rewards program. I will definitely stay here again, and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: As for a high floor
