We stayed here back in March, and I wrote a glowing and deserving review. Naturally, when an event came in Boston up that we planned on attending in July, we reserved a room at the Revere, our new favorite spot. Well...not so much anymore. When we arrived we learned that despite making a reservation a couple of months ago, that they sold our room and we would have to go to another hotel. They made the arrangements and promised to cover the cost, but that did not assuage the sting of this kind of treatment. I'm 63 and have been traveling for some time, and I never had this happen. This is why you make reservations: so you can choose where you stay based on your plans, and, at times, make plans based upon the location of your stay. Now we were being told to "walk."

Besides the callousness of being given "the walk" there is the inefficiency of not telling us until we walked in, bags in hand. In this day of email, cell phones, and texting there is no excuse for
providing no advanced warning whatsoever. They had time to time to type up a letter ahead of time to tell us of the situation, but nobody had the sense or civility to send us an email or call us to give us a head-up. That is bush league service plain and simple.

They did a good job rebuilding this hotel to make it nicer. A few things remain, like no a/c in the halls which means individual units in each room. The lobby is very nice, but no real place to hang out since the restaurant is located across the guest drop drive way. The concierge was very helpful. The rooftop is really a bar with 4 cabanas next to the indoor pool. Nice but has full sun in afternoon, so very hot and strange furniture. It wasn't crowded at all. Overall a nice stay while we took in 4th of July festivities. Good location, we walked to many good restaurants, Boston Common, and downtown historic district.

Mjpsr11 thank you so much for your comments! Im glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at the Revere Hotel! In regards to seating space in our lobby, we have 4 different areas where guests make themselves more then comfortable; three in front of our front desk and one across from the concierge. That is not including our giant center sculpture that is one of the main focal points in our lobby. It is surrounded by beautiful white granite bench-like seats, where guests are always found taking photos or enjoying a complimentary beverage during Libation Thursdays. Every Thursday, in addition to our guests receiving a complimentary glass of champagne during check-in if they are to arrive to the hotel between 430pm-630pm they also have the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of a complimentary surprise cocktail. Then are invited to Emerald Lounge for light bites and other tastings of our promotional beverage of the day!

Thanks again!

Great location! We could walk to many sites.
The lobby of the hotel is a bit pretentious and the scent is overwhelming. We checked in early and they held our bags which was great. So since we were already checked in, we were not prepared for our room not being ready at 3 PM. Took
some time to get it sorted out.
The room was nice overall, but had some cheap elements. Liked the balcony on our high floor. The view was terrific!

My husband and I stayed at the Revere for our 2 year anniversary and we had a lovely visit. We are from NY but met in college in Boston and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in our original stomping grounds! The room and food were wonderful but what really set the Revere apart was the service we experienced. Right from the start the woman at that front desk was so friendly and welcoming. On out first night we decided to relax on the rooftop and our server Bridget was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu and drinks. She always checked in on us with a smile on her face to make sure we were being taken care of! We will definitely be coming back to the Revere and are so glad to add it to the list of reasons why we love Boston!

We stayed here in June during the Boston Early Music Festival. As part of the festival we received a special rate which was reasonable for this hotel's prime location. Two years ago when we stayed it was the Radisson --- it is basically the same hotel, but the decor has been strikingly changed! Silver, black, glitzy. Not sure we liked it at first, but at least it's new, and we got used to it.. The rooms are spacious, well-arranged, and have every amenity a traveler needs. One small problem: wear your glasses into the shower, because the soap, shampoo & conditioner are dispensed on the wall, and if you're half-blind, you can't tell which is which! The other, bigger, problem was that the lock fastener between the door and the wall was very loose! This is why I'm only giving 4 stars. One of the most important things about a hotel is the service. This definitely gets very high ratings from us. From the desk to the parking attendants to the restaurant servers to the maids, we were greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness, and the willingness to help in any way they could.

Nicely renovated and modern except for one major thing. There is no central air throughout the building. Rooms are cooled by an individual wall unit like in a cheap motel. That means discomfort on a hot 90 degree day. No air conditioning in the halls or the elevators, which is a minor inconvenience. But the unit in my room did not cool down the air adequately so it ran constantly. Was very loud and annoying to try to sleep with that. Also, the coolest the room got was a very noisy 75 degrees. Finally decided in the middle of the night it was better to turn the thermostat above 75 so the damn thing would stop running. that was the only way to get some sleep. The hotel is centrally located near the Boston Common, Chinatown, a short walk to Copely Sq. it is convenient to walk or take the T and the staff at the hotel are very helpful. Maybe this hotel works in cool weather. I was there on a Sunday night so there were no crowds on the elevators and the roof deck bar was not very busy. If they had decent air in the rooms I'd give this hotel a higher rating.

HotelDeal, thank you for your feedback. Im sorry to hear about the issues with your AC unit in your room, our engineering department makes it a point to inspect all units on a quarterly basis and tend to or replace which ever ones are not functioning correctly. With any guest issue, I always recommend to call down to inform the staff at the Front Desk and we will always do our best to rectify the situation. In your specific instance we would have definitely room moved you or would have dispatch Engineering immediately to tend to the situation. I invite you back and ask you to contact me directly for your booking so I can make sure your stay is seamless from start to finish.
I look forward to hearing from you.

As always the revere hotel was great. The service is outstanding. Cynthia at the front desk makes checking in an absolute pleasure. She also goes out of her way to make sure every guests feels right at home. I cannot say enough about the service one recieves from check in to check out. The room was great. The rooftop pool and lounge was wonderful also.
