“Great location, funky decor and great service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Stayed here for a conference. Helpful and welcoming staff. A plus in customer service. Very clean, comfortable bed, well appointed room, nice bath products if you want to use them. Walking distance to most areas in and around dowtown. Would definitely stay again. I noted in another review that the room was loud. Our room must have been in a different part of the hotel as it was quiet each night (despite the fact that our room was right by the elevator). Also ordered room service for lunch, which was excellent.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. We are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed our location, guestrooms and Skoah products. I am glad you found your room next to the elevators to be quiet; those rooms can be found noisy to light sleepers, but not an issue to other guests like yourself, so it really is a personal preference. We hope to see you again soon.

I was very fortunate to find this hotel on Hotwire at half price for my one night in Boston (which was still expensive for my budget but not totally out of line for a large city). I was going to see Blue Man, and it was truly a five-minute walk to the theatre.

We had some small problems, though none of those addressed in previous reviews. Perhaps the administration reads them and makes adjustments. The TV remote power button didn't work -- didn't think this was important enough to complain, though. We found a channel listing on the TV, but there was no schedule.

The pillows were too squishy for me, but that's my own fault; they had a "pillow menu" so you could request different firmness, and I just forgot about it until I got into bed.

We discovered a couple of extra remotes in the nightstand and were surprised to see that our beds were Sleep Number beds. Exciting! However, there were no instructions and our attempts at changing settings didn't seem to get results. A call to the front desk revealed that personnel there didn't know how they worked. A very nice man offered to send the engineer to the room to show us how, but by then we were undressed and unwilling to entertain company! A little instruction sheet included with the remotes would be nice.

I self-parked the car in the adjoining garage, and when we left about 24 hours later, it was $34.

Just another tiny complaint: it took them three days to answer my email requesting a certain type of room. Check more often, please.

Three of us stayed for 4 days here. Staff courteous friendly and attentive, the concierge remembers you by name!
Modern entrance with clean lines, the rooms very comfortable and clean, bathroom products nice too. A balcony adds a little open air feel to the room.
A tad expensive but that's Boston so money well spent here. Positioned good right In The theatre district and not far from the Boston commons, downtown or the convention centre.( the slight walk will invigorate you) even the trolley tour is right out front. A few small negatives, noisy air conditioner, needed coffee set up for 4 not 2 and the lifts were a wee bit tardy at times. All in all a place very worth staying at.

All the good reviews tell about everything. A high end hotel at downtown with this price is really a bargain. The reason I gave it a 4 is because: 1) I don' t know the reason why but there is smell of dust in our room for all the 3 days of our stay, maybe because they just turn the heating on? 2) The internet connection is unbearably slow, especially at weekend nights. If I could rate 4.5, I would have done so.

Although the weather did not cooperate, we were readily supplied a second umbrella by the housekeeping staff. Our room was very comfortable, with REAL glasses to drink from as well as a couple of bottles of water left on the night stand. HUGE flat screen TV, balcony on the 22nd floor, and unbelievably quiet. Charlotte at the front desk was super charming and very helpful (thanks Char! We went back to the Thinking Cup for breakfast!!) Great location, would stay there again without hesitation!

Well appointed, roomy and excellent towels and toiletries. Pillows far too plump and soft for me, but bolster provided when requested which was much better. Didn't eat at the hotel, lots of cafes nearby for breakfast and dined locally twice at Vapiano over the road, and the Chinese restaurant by the Transportation building. Great location for theatres, subway and the park.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common. Happy to hear you enjoyed the guestrooms and Skoah bathroom products. We did spend a lot of time testing pillows and bedding to ensure comfort and I do suggest checking out the pillow menu, where you have a variety of pillows to choose from. I also recommend trying Emerald Lounge the next time you stay with us. They offer a utensil-free menu with great variety and delicious craft cocktails. My favorites are the coconut shrimp with a Blueberry Vojito!

This hotel is in a great location and has a number of nice features/amenities. To skip to the punch line, I would absolutely stay here again and look forward to my next opportunity to do so.

Pros:
- hotel appears to be new or newly renovated
- check-in is quick, efficient and courteously staffed
- rooms are tastefully appointed with hardwood entryway, carpeted bedroom, desk, reading area with chaise lounge and designated lighting
- iPad speakers
- complimentary slippers
- extensive and varied room service menu
- TV works with the LodgeNet app for iPhone, which is a cool and fun feature
- complimentary WiFi

Cons:
- elevators take quite some time to come and some have not yet been renovated
- no alarm clock in the room. While I'm sure the average guest has a watch or phone to tell time, it's nice to have a clock in the room that is visible if you awaken during the night
- no minibar
- no bathrobe. This isn't a big deal but most hotels that offer slippers have bathrobes.
- the bathroom toiletries are bolted to the wall. This is undoubtedly more green than manufacturing the miniature sized bottles but is much less convenient for guests.
- located near a number of great restaurants

The pros more than outweigh the cons so I wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Thank you for staying at the Revere Hotel Boston Common and for your comments. Glad to hear you enjoyed the location of the hotel as well as the amenities we offer. All guestrooms should have two bathrobes as well as an alarm clock; I am not sure why your room was missing these items and I will certainly be addressing this with our cast. As part of being a green hotel, we chose to use large pumps to dispense the Skoah products we offer in each guest bathroom so we do not waste containers. We look forward to your return.
