This is my third time staying here over past 10 years. I stay here because I love historic hotels and the LOCATION is best in city! Walking distance to everything and very close to the Boston Common as well as the Freedom Trail. The Beantown pub next door serves great breakfast!
Yes the rooms are smaller but the beds are amazing, room very clean and lots of towels! The food is ok if you are tired but so many wonderful restaurants to explore in Boston! Remember it’s all about location in Boston and the remarkable history!

This is a beautiful hotel with old world charm. The ornate woodwork and portraits are like walking through time. Staff is very helpful- we did not get our room until after 3 which was a little annoying but the visit was good!

This hotel is close to many historic attractions and easy to reach others. we had a great room that was nice and spacious. The bathroom was a bit small, but this is an old hotel after all. We dined in their restaurant and also had drinks in the bar. Would stay here again when we come back!

... the rooms were not as expected. My sister and brother in law's room was in the older section and it was tiny - it could just fit a full size bed. Our room was in the 'newer' section (according to a staff member) and it was a good size and overlooked the church. However, both rooms lacked the expected level of cleanliness. Baseboards were filthy, and it was apparent there hadn't been a deep cleaning in a while. The bathrooms need some maintenance with cracked tiles, peeling paint etc.

On the plus side though, the staff were gracious, friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had great service at the front desk, valet, restaurant and gift shop. The location was perfect for us and the public areas were beautifully decorated.

Breakfast buffet was fantastic and we enjoyed it so much we didn't really need anything else to eat until dinner!

Room Tip: Ask for a King bed - room will then be bigger

I really hate to write bad reviews but I hate to see people waste their money. I was trying to find something positive to write but haven’t found anything. We brought our own bags to our room ( two women) as the bellmen outside and inside argued over who should take them. I can only compare the rooms with a Motel 6 which I haven’t stayed in since 1970 and pretty sure that’s the last time these rooms were updated! The furniture is not period furniture but crappy cheap banged up stuff that should have been put in the dumpster long ago. Then there is the horrible musty smell! Thank God we were only staying one night or we would have found a different hotel. The Omni brand should be ashamed of themselves!

It is very clear from your review that we are not what you were expecting and deeply regret that this was your experience of our hotel. And, while we appreciate your desire to only give positive reviews, please allow us to mention that the hotel has, most certainly, been updated on numerous occasions "since 1970". Thanks for the feedback.
