“Restaurant -Quite old world elegance”
Reviewed October 15, 2011

Although not staying at the Hotel, we dined at the Omni Parker House Restaurant - The dining room has an old world elegance , which is only to be expected given the history and age of the hotel.

The service was quietly efficient and the food was good I had the scrod which was funky fresh & tasty whilst my wife had the scallops also delicious and of course we had to finish with the house signature dessert of Boston Cream Pie which was surprisingly light and tasty. A little bit pricier than many other restaurants and portions were not huge but overall a very pleasant experience.

The Parker House has a great location for exploring Boston and staff was generally good Biggest downfall is the tiny bathrooms (older hotel) so if that's not an issue for you, go for it.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights this summer. Our room was perfect for us, in our mid-twenties. We had a nice view of a courtyard and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was nicely modelled. The best part for us was that the hotel was pet-friendly so we were able to bring our dog with us on our trip, which was a nice perk. All of the employees that we encountered were friendly and professional. Upon arriving, my door was opened and the valets assisted with our bags and parked the car. The Front Desk Staff were all very polite and helpful. At breakfast, our server was of the highest quality. We were given attention when needed, without asking, and left to enjoy our meal the rest of the time. The location of the hotel made it easy for us to come and go during the day. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay down town.

Room Tip: Be polite to Front Desk and you will always receive great service, sometimes upgrades.

Good hotel in good area of Boston. Very polite and helpful staff. Lots of variety at breakfast.

Disabled room facilities in room - very large shower room though the tiles and seat in the shower were very slippery when wet.
Two very comfy double beds with quality sheets. I found them too high but my husband liked them.

Charm of the hotel was just a little faded but still good condition,

I feel like I'm staying at a budget hotel! We don't even have a dresser in this room. Just a bare wall where it should be. We have no counter space in the bathroom......none! And the closet is too tiny for both of us to hang our clothes. I'm stuck here for 5 days looking out onto an alleyway and an ugly building 20 feet away. And you have to crane your neck to watch tv because its over in the corner, instead of on a nice dresser in front of the bed. A cheap design on a dime decorator must have done this place. And there is not one piece of art....just a bare wall. Yuck! Go somewhere else. There are too many other nice hotels in Boston. I should have done more reseach.

We spent 3 nights here at the start of a touring holiday around New England. It's a lovely old building and our room was good. A very large bathroom and reasonable sized bedroom with more than adequate storage space. We ate breakfast in the hotel as there's not much close by. Having the full buffet breakfast is $22 each + tax and the inevitable tip. Not as cheap as we'd expected in America but the food was good. If I want to be picky, the bacon was a bit fatty and the potatoes were tasteless. Service was excellent - no waiting for refills of juice or coffee. The concierge here was very helpful - providing various free maps and giving any advice we wanted. We'd stay here again if in Boston.
If you come for a few days as we did, do use the Old Trolleybus tours. We did over a full circuit + the seaport loop, on our first day, to get our bearings - getting off in a couple of places. Then on the next day we used it more as a means of getting to where we wanted to be. The drivers provide running commentary with lots of interesting information and most are amusing as well as informative.
If there was a downside to the hotel it was the outlook - none really, just a tiny inner yard surrounded by other rooms. But as we didn't spend much time in the room during daylight hours it wasn't important.

Room Tip: Not sure - don't know if any rooms have any view. Although there are about 14 floors, most build...
