A beautifully classic hotel that shows its history without feeling out of date or antique. It does make life feel that little bit more luxurious. I can't help, however, compare it to the Mayflower Park Hotel in Seattle where the rooms were bigger and better but the location not so. That said, you can feel the Omni Parker House's significant history oozing out of it.

Our room in the Omni was smaller than we expected but clean and very comfy nonetheless. We were in the 12th floor and had a nice view. The staff, from start to end were excellent.

We made the mistake of sitting in the lobby when the ghost tour came in and we found out the it's one of if not the most haunted hotels in the north east of the USA! I shall avoid rooms on floor 3 and floor 9 in future!

We've debated on rating four or five for this but have settled on four just because of the cramped deluxe room and cramped bathroom.

my two friends and i stayed here for a long girls' weekend in november. the location can't be beat - within walking distance of subway station, great irish bars, and restaurants. yes, the room was quite small for 3 females (a sports arena would probably still be snug), but overall it was very clean and lavishly furnished in period pieces. the lobby and restaurant are gorgeous and comfy - we stopped off for a late night boston creme pie and enjoyed the people watching in the bar. bellhops were very personable and gave us some great recommendations for nightlife. a great experience.

For the price I paid for one night, I was hoping for a big bathroom and a great view of the city. Instead the bathroom was small and the view from our room was of someone's apartment. The hotel is nice & the bed was super comfy though. Pillows were a little too soft for my liking. I enjoyed being able to check in from home so when I got there my room key was already set aside and I didn't have to wait for it. The Boston cream pie was delicious & is cheaper if you get it to go from the gift shop then at the restaurant.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay at the Omni Parker House. It is regretful that you were disappointed with the size of the room as well as with the view. Due to our historic nature we have some rooms which, by today's standards are small. Also, being located in the heart of a major city, there are buildings surrounding us which limit views for a few of our rooms as well. With that said, we feel our location, history and staff make up for some of the shortcomings of a 155 year old hotel.

We just got back from our stay at the Parker House and I have to say it was awesome. Now there are a few things that you will need to know before you decide to stay here. Yes ... the rooms are small, however, the hotel is 156 years old and unfortunately they cannot update the shape of such an old hotel. Although the rooms are small they are very cozy ... the beds were amazingly comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The tv's were updated to flat panels and they had a radio alarm clock with an aux cable for your ipod. I just want to remind everyone that when you are on vacation how much time do you actually spend in your hotel room??? not much!!! so why does it matter how big the rooms are? Unless you are trying to fit a family of 8 in one room this hotel and it's room sizes shouldn't affect your decision. The history alone that this hotel has is enough to want to stay here. I do recommend signing up for the Omni rewards (you get free wifi, beverages and newspapers) ... it's free to sign up and if you don't you will have to pay for wifi. The location of this hotel is right on the freedom trail and it's about a 5 minute walk to Quincey Market. We were able to walk to Newbury Street and Fenway from this hotel and it wasn't that far.

The service was 5 star!!! We arrived at the hotel at 10am and although check in was not until 3pm ... they had a room ready for us. The bellhops and the front desk clerks went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. They found out it was my husbands birthday and they sent us up some complimentary champagne and boston cream pie (which were delish). They also held our baggage upon check out so that we could go to the Bruins game before we had to fly out (at no charge).

Overall, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. Rooms are small, but cozy, however the location and the service make up for everything. I would stay here again for sure!!

Room Tip: Ask for a view room upon check in!

The hotel is nice, and it's the longest continuously running hotel in pretty much this side of the galaxy. But at the end of the day, after a hard day of meetings, I don't care.
I want everything to be modern, convenient, efficient.
Which this hotel is not quite. The whole place smells old. And it's pretty dark too with all the wood and carpets.

And overall, they've done an amazing job taking a 1000 year old hotel and planting all the features of a modern hotel inside it, but the age shows-- in the layout (labyrinthine), in the rooms (really small bathrooms), in the way the AC is installed (not complaining, just not used to it being on the floor).

At the end, it boils down to taste. It's just not mine.

It is regretful that your time spent at the Omni Parker House was less than satisfactory and it is clear we are not the hotel for you. While we acknowledge our historic nature, our recent renovation provides flat screen TVs, WiFi , pillowtop bedding and numerous other features common to new hotels. We hope that on your next trip to Boston you will feel comfortable enough to give us another try.

We enjoyed our stay at the Omni Parker and would love to return soon! The hotel is one of a kind and perfectly situated for a tour of Boston's highlights. Our room was extremely large with a sitting area and vanity table area. The bathroom was small, but to be expected in this historic hotel. Special thanks to Seamus for his kindness to us!

No ghosts were sighted, but we enjoyed learning about the history of the hotel and its former guests. Ask the front desk for the list of ghostly sightings. We highly recommend taking the Orange and Green Trolley Tour - an easy walk from the hotel - which allows you to get on and off the trolley all over the city.

Would not hesitate to return to the Parker House. Thank you!

It is definitely something to experience, rich with history. The size of the rooms are small but I expected that. I was not impressed by a view of a block wall, when I requested a view when I booked it. it is a great central location to all tourist sights. It was something to see once, but probably would not stay there again.
