I'm biased because I adore the city of Boston. This hotel does it right. Warm reception at front desk, knowledgeable concierge staff, comfortable but elegant rooms. Location could not be better

My wife and I spent last weekend celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at the Four Seasons in Boston. It could not have been better. From the time we arrived we were always greeted by name. Our room overlooked the Public Garden which was magical at Christmas time. The room was a suite which was spacious and quiet. We could not have asked for more.

Stayed here with my wife and four children for three nights in late October. Had a wonderful stay and especially enjoyed the gym and leisure centre. In particular, the staff were exceptionally friendly and courteous - the only exception being a young man in the Leisure centre who was a bit up himself - and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any of my friends fro any sort of getaway. As noted by other reviewers the location is excellent.

Just got back from a 3 night stay in Boston. This property is a little worn and not as perfect as some of the other 4S properties-the chair in our room had stains on it, and the tv remote was dirty. However, those were the only 2 glitches. I agree that at the prices you pay for a 4S, 2 glitches is too many, but 4S is one of the few hotels that I know I can count on, and Boston was no exception.
Our room and bath were very clean (other than the remote, obviously)- no stray hairs to be found on the linens, in the bed, or in the bath (one of my pet peeves!). The service was definitely up to 4S standards, and the location across from Boston Common was great. We were given a ride by the "house car" to dinner one night (a free service) and were given excellent recommendations by the concierge on where to eat and what to see.
We had an excellent stay- the location was great, the service was excellent, and our room was spacious and very clean. This would definitely be my choice if ever in Boston again.

Out of all the Four Seasons we have seen and stayed in, this definitely was not one of the best. We were in a room directly overlooking the public gardens, which were lovely. The rooms are nicely decorated but on the small size. Our bed was quite hard. However, upon request, housekeeping did put an egg crate on the mattress and that really helped. In the small bathroom, a glass door only covered 2/3 of the shower leaving the last third open. Between that and the gape between the glass where it opened, we had a flooded floor every time we took a shower.

On the plus side, check in was smooth, the hotel was clean and the location is outstanding (on Boylston Ave. near the best shopping and restaurants in Boston) and overall the service was good. The t.v.s were plasmas with a great picture, the towels were nice and soft.

The Bristol lounge was a bit slow but the food was better than in room dining. The cocktails were also quite good and potent.

There were two incidents that made my husband and I think that there is a little lack of communication with their staff. Each morning, we would receive a call that was meant for another room, waking us early, followed one morning by a maid delivering a pair of pants to us at 6:00 a.m., only to be told they have the wrong room. We grew tired of them waking us for reasons that were not ours. Also, when the turn down maid came to deliver fresh towels, she put them on the toilet seat before she attempted to hang them up. I told her we didn't want any new towels. By now, I thought there were some things that management should know, so I made a call down to them to make them aware of some of their staff issues. After I spoke to the manager on duty, she told me that she would comp most of our room stay to make up for what happened. We were very thankful that she handled the problem with so much generosity. If she hadn't, I could not in good conscience, have given this hotel even four stars. As it was though, she redeemed their hotel, especially by talking to each department that had made the mistakes. We received apologetic follow up calls from each department involved. We sincerely hope that this will help their service to improve here.

The location was wonderful. The greeting from front desk staff was great. Our room was beautiful - so why couldn't we give this an "Excellent"? Service in the Bristol Lounge is the answer. We spent two nights at the hotel. Both nights we had to wait on service, not only to get served, but for our check. Ordered a coffee/liquor and got exactly 1 cup of coffee - no offer for a refill or even checked on by the staff. Area was great, but I think next time we would try a different hotel.

This is not one of the best Four Seasons with some of the rooms a littel dated but the service and location are excellent.

Four Seasons service stands them out above other properties and this was no exception. I had a great room which was oversized with sitting area and large bathroom no seperate shower. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the location excellent for shopping/sightseeing Boston.

The pool is small but is adequate for swimming. Overall a good choice for Boston.
