“very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

Stooped in with my kids, as my son recommended Bova's. With a selection of fantastic pastries including a delicious assortment of cannoli's ,we were overwhelmed. A small area compared to some of the more well known places, but everything was great. With fast friendly service we were enjoying our treats in seconds. I had a peanut butter cannoli and my son had some kind of breakfast type bar. Everything was good.

“Best Lemon Cookies!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2014

Stumbled on this North End gem courtesy of my husband, who happens to be a Bova (no relation!). Visiting for the novelty of the shared name turned this into a must-stop shop every time I make it to Boston. I haven't been disappointed yet. The lemon anginetti are unbelievable. Get some. Get a pound. Seriously, you want these cookies.

“Quality is Down”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2014

We have always used Bova's Bakery for their delicious breads. This time we tried the bread rings. Not up to the old standard...dry and not like a true Italian loaf. It wasn't good. Tasted much like what you would get in a chain grocery store. The next day, it was so dry it was inedible. Too bad, Last time for us. There are so many places that are in the neighborhood that still want happy customers to come back.

“Don't be fooled... these are NOT good pastries at all!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2014

I must admit... these pastries look like the real thing... but if you know what good Italian pastries are supposed to taste like, you'll know that these are ABSOLUTELY NOT the real thing! The pastries were not flaky but heavy (especially the lobster tails). The baba au rhum were just awful! The ricotta filling in the cannoli ...tasteless and like paste. The people at the counter didn't even know the names of the pastries and were not very nice either. Skip this place and wait on line for the better places! There's a GOOD reason why there's a line!

“Good eclair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2014 via mobile

We shared a small chocolate eclair, it was very good but small for $2.50. The eclair was very good, it was cool from the refrigerated case so it was still fresh.
