“Delicious food in a fun atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We wanted to eat here after seeing the chef compete on "Chopped." Turns out, the Beehive is in a really fun space and just oozes character and charm. The room where we ate was set below street level. It featured exposed brick walls and fun chandeleirs, plus a small stage where they have live music (but not while we were there).

Of course, the food is why we went, and it didn't disappoint. We shared a number of small plates and loved them all. I got a small pizza that was amazing, and tried a taco special. Delicious! The server was very helpful in suggesting dishes to try.

had a few drinks and apps at the bar and both were great. Great music, lots of people, very diverse. cool vibe. Great alternative to a night club.

“A throwback to Speak Easy days”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

At first you think you are backstage in a theater. Then it becomes reminiscent of the old Speak Easys. Sit around with friends, drinks, kick back listen to some music and have some soul-ful food. Drinks are well made, no skimping. Food was better than anticipated, salmon was perfectly grilled. Portions are large so sharing is encouraged. Only drawback are the tables are so small, it is hard to have more than 2 plates on it at a time. Service was attentive and there are plenty of servers so anyone can take care of whatever you need.

“Bohemian Beehive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

We had brunch at The Beehive as I had a gift card there. It was our first time at this restaurant, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions at brunch are HUGE (so no dinner that night!), the food is good, and the service was great. I loved it that the waitstaff all took care of all tables so you never sat there waiting for your food if your waiter/waitress was busy. On Sundays they often have jazz during brunch, and it was nice background music. The atmosphere is quirky, and the tables are really close together, whcih is my only complaint. It can be tough to get into your chair if the people sitting at the table behind you are not pulling their chairs in!

“Lively spot for dinner or drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

Had a fun dinner here with a big group of friends. It was my first time eating at the Beehive, I'd only been for drinks before. I love the regular live music, especially when you're downstairs- I'd say it's livelier down there. We were seated upstairs and couldn't hear much besides the bar. However, the service was great, and the food was pretty good. The menu has a lot of seafood and it all looked tempting. I had the French onion soup and the pear, duck, blue cheese salad. It was pretty good, though the salad was slightly overdressed. It came out super quickly so I couldn't complain. A bit pricey.
