When I pulled to the front door, the valet spilled water onto my laptop computer. He did not apologize and was interested in a tip. The tip is, "Be more careful". The security wanted to take my beer away. The hotel manager said the MA laws prohibits alcohol in the room. Needless to say, they will provide room service with beer/wine.

Sticky candy was in the carpet.

They ruined my vacation.

This hotel was selected for us by a bride and groom whose wedding was nearby. The accomodations seemed fine but we did not receive room service one of the days. After 14 hours of site seeing we came home to dirty dishes outside the room and dirty towels on the floor. The front desk credited us $50 for our trouble but it does not seem adequate but we were too tired to put up a fight. The hotel was convienent for a wedding on the pier but that was about it. It was 1.5 mile walk to do any of the major sight seeing unless you were catching a boat somewhere.

Wonderful service, great rooms, and the most polite staff you could ask for. Expensive yes, but what place that you would want to stay in isn't?
The resturant features some delicious fare that was really well prepared and presented..

The hotel is very new. The lobby is stylish and inviting. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was a nice size with new linens, decor and furniture. The room and bathroom were spotless. The hotel location is a good 20 minute walk to downtown which was nice in the summer but might not be ideal in winter. There is not too much to do in the immediate area around the hotel which is near the harbor. If in the area I would recommend eating at the Legal Seafood Test Kitchen which is next door to the hotel. Only a few minor points against... The internet acess was expensive and the room service menu was lacking. On one night a concert was at the nearby amphitheater and I was suprised how loud the music could be heard in the room. Overall I had a nice stay at the hotel and would stay here for business again.

Stayed in Boston for Tall Ships activities this past weekend. The Rennaissance is a new and tastefully executed hotel. The rooms are top notch. King sized beds, all in- room amenities, great views etc. It is expensive, but shop around for deals. you will be surprised how affordable the rates are on weekends. Parking is expensive. The hotel offers $40.00 valet parking only. You can get self parking in a public garage around the corner for $30.00. The hotel is in an area that is being updated and it is quite nice. There are loads of things to do . The usual tourist areas (The North End, Quincy Market and Long Wharf) are a twenty minute walk or a short cab ride.

We stayed a week there, due to conference. Rooms are spacious and clean but very expensive. Room design is not that exciting, quite simple and rather old fashioned. The big problem is you can hardly rest without ear plugs, the walls are so thin that you can hear nearly everything going on around, even when your neighbour showers or flush the toilette.
Service is standard, not extraordinary, rather cool. Location is far from activities, going out for food is quite a walk away. If you take T, you need to change a few times. I would recommend this hotel only if you need to go to WTC daily, otherwise don't.

This was a brand new property at the time of stay and in typical Marriott/Renaissance fashion, they did not disappoint. The lobby is nice and modern, and the entire building was very clean. All rooms are non-smoking which is a major plus. Rooms are also spacious, and the beds are extremely comfortable... very hard to crawl out of them in the a.m. Restrooms are immaculate. The pool, spa, and fitness center are top notch and the staff is always friendly.

With regard to location, there isn't much in the immediate area as this area is still developing. However, if you don't mind a 15-20 minute (uncomplicated) stroll you'll find yourself within reach of Faneuil Hall and the North End. Otherwise, a cab ride will run about $5. Noteworthy is the metro stop just across the side street of the hotel which will take you directly to the airport terminals.

Overall, great stay and will definitely return.
