Very Professional

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 12, 2019
I want to single out three employees who were excellent at their job;
1. Sheb Shumar-Club International Manager; he took the time with everyone he spoke to and deserves a great deal of respect from his superiors.
2.Brooke Magpiong-Club Lounge Attendant; she was very professional and although still in college should be considered for Management.
3. Cristian Jaramillo Perez-Club Lounge Attendant; attended to all our needs and is very diligent at his work.
The Boston Intercontinental should be very proud of all its staff and the hotel conditions as everyone we came in contact with was very hospitable and professional. I do not normally write reviews and am in no way affiliated with anyone at this hotel but felt like in a time that customer service seems to be lacking horribly it was imperative to write positive comments.

The location of this hotel is excellent but after staying at The Langham in Chicago this hotel was not of the same quality or service. We prepaid our 5 nights but at checkin they required a credit card. We had been in USA for over a week and no issues until this moment. Our PIN number on the credit card was not approved. Same thing with all of our cards. The receptionist was not overly helpful leaving me totally exasperated and concerned. After talking to the bank they informed me it was the hotels server that was the problem. The receptionist says” they have not had any problems”. This was little help to me. This should have been sorted much faster because our room was already fully paid. Bypassing the pin allowed everything to be sorted. It was their machine! We accepted an upgrade of window view for additional $35. On checkout I discovered it was actually an addidional$40 a night due to taxes. More transparency would be appreciated. The plumbing in our room was a problem. It took 5-10 minutes for bath to release hot water. The bath and sink were semi blocked and shower hot water would come and go and also took 5 minutes to resemble warm. We decided not to inform until leaving as we did not want people coming in and out of our room. Overall this hotel needs to up their game in quality of service.

Room tip: Check your taps before unpacking!

On the waterfront in Boston this is a wonderful hotel and location. A short walk to South Station T Stop, The North End and of course walking distance to almost everything in Boston. I did a nice walk even to the Prudential Center and back. The hotel is beautiful and my room was a good size and so well kept. The staff from the front dest, Concierge and room attendants were all friendly and always asking what could they do to make your stay better. We had a lunch for a large group in Meil and the food and service was top notch. I have been to Boston numerous times but never have stayed in this hotel. For sure on my next trip to Boston, the Intercontinental will be my first choice.

We stayed there over Memorial Day weekend. Location is right by the children's museum and the Boston tea party museum. Our room was spacious and clean. We also had a lovely view of the waterfront. Staff members were helpful and kind. The only negative thing to say would be that the furniture felt worn out - it can use some updating. Overall, a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

I used my free annual night reward of my IHG membership. It was an amazing stay. The hotel was located in the center of Boston and was close to all facilities. Our trip was to visit the famous university town of Cambridge.

Our first visit to Boston was made exceptional by our stay at the Intercontinental Hotel Boston, located at 510 Atlantic Ave. The location was ideal, in close proximity to The Freedom Trail, and the North End. The hotel backs up to Boston Harbor, has a delightful restaurant on the water, plus park benches overlooking the water directly behind the hotel. Every hotel employee with whom we interacted was helpful, polite, and knowledgeable about the hotel, eating establishments, and directions.
The concierge staff (Luis and Adam) were outstanding. The front desk assistants were polite and accommodated our requests for early check in late checkout. Patrick, the bellman, was polite, informative, and helpful with our luggage. When we return to Boston, we will not search for any other hotel, because this one is “a gem.”
