The location of this hotel is excellent but after staying at The Langham in Chicago this hotel was not of the same quality or service. We prepaid our 5 nights but at checkin they required a credit card. We had been in USA for over a week and no issues until this moment. Our PIN number on the credit card was not approved. Same thing with all of our cards. The receptionist was not overly helpful leaving me totally exasperated and concerned. After talking to the bank they informed me it was the hotels server that was the problem. The receptionist says” they have not had any problems”. This was little help to me. This should have been sorted much faster because our room was already fully paid. Bypassing the pin allowed everything to be sorted. It was their machine! We accepted an upgrade of window view for additional $35. On checkout I discovered it was actually an addidional$40 a night due to taxes. More transparency would be appreciated. The plumbing in our room was a problem. It took 5-10 minutes for bath to release hot water. The bath and sink were semi blocked and shower hot water would come and go and also took 5 minutes to resemble warm. We decided not to inform until leaving as we did not want people coming in and out of our room. Overall this hotel needs to up their game in quality of service.
