I recently stayed here with a friend of mine and have nothing but positive things to say! It is a wonderful property - a perfect balance of elegant and chic. Everyone from the bell men, to the front desk, to the housekeeping team, to the folks in the restaurant, everyone I encountered was an absolute pleasure and made my day better. I'd recommend this property time and time again! Good work.

We had a phenomenal stay at this hotel over the weekend. Everything was perfect – location, service, comfort, attention to detail and hospitality. We loved the cocktails at RumBa and enjoyed the views of the water from the hotel. It was hard to leave! I would definitely recommend this hotel for a trip to Boston!

The location - near South Station, the waterfront, and the harbor make it a perfect hub for sightseeing. The service makes you feel like you're home and rooms are so inviting - clean and comfortable - it was actually hard to leave (it was very hot outside!).

Room Tip: The city-view suite actually had a great view

As a Gold Ambassador I stayed over a weekend for 2 nights in late October 2013 with a close relative. Overall we were happy with the quality of the stay, and it lived up to the InterContinental standards I expect, however there were a few things which could easily be improved upon, especially considering the overall rate paid.

I stayed in a suite on the Club Level. The view over the harbour was very nice, the beds comfortable and the bathroom magnificent.

I arrived late from Europe and had a number of pre-arrival queries which were dealt with quickly by email from the Concierge team - so this helped a lot. My guest had already check-in earlier without any issue.

Advantages
+ Good location - close to Boston with easy access to Logan Airport
+ All Ambassador Benefits provided
+ Helpful and friendly concierge
+ High quality furnishings
+ Spacious Club Lounge
+ High quality bathroom amenities

Disadvantages
- Noise from Club Lounge Service Entrance adjacent to my room (An afternoon sleep was impossible because of constant door banging).
- No spirits available in Club Lounge during evening (IC San Francisco offers this)
- No permanent service attendant in the Club Lounge (only during service hours)
- Afternoon Tea in the Club Lounge - just the same snacks there during the daytime.

- Experience in Miel Bar on departure - We had taken advantage of the late 4pm checkout, however it was still to early to go to the airport so went for drinks in Miel Bar. When ordering we were told we had to provide a room number or credit card, or pay upfront. This was due to a number of "walkers", or people walking out without paying they had recently. My bags were still with the concierge at this stage and quite clearly we were going nowhere in a hurry, never mind leaving without paying. I am sorry but I think this issue is the hotel's security problem and guests should not have to pay or provide evidence they will pay the moment they sit down (esp. if they have been paying $500 a night). Overall I think this this expectation is quite unwelcome.

Dear Shamrock104,

We appreciate your taking the time to write such a thoughtful and detailed review. As an Ambassador member, your loyalty to IHG is important to us and we value your feedback very much; I’m glad to hear that much of your experience was enjoyable.

I am truly sorry about the noise from the Club Lounge service entrance; this should not have affected your afternoon sleep has been discussed with the management team to ensure a quieter environment in that area. Regarding the lack of permanent service, all attendants are full-time staff however there is a two-hour window that the lounge is self-service. We can certainly explore the option of adding more presence during that time. I am also glad to receive your feedback on the afternoon tea; this is something that we will address with the culinary team and explore our options to make it more distinctive. Furthermore, we do currently serve spirits in the Club during twilight hours; however the beverages are not out for display. This too will be reevaluated due to feedback such as yours. We will also take a look at the payment procedures in the bar; I regret that this instance had a negative impact upon your departure.

Thank you again for your review; we would very much appreciate the opportunity to welcome you back the next time you are in Boston. If I may be of any assistance personally with arranging a future reservation, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Sincerely,

Ian Pullan

From the moment you drive up and receive the warmest greeting from Joe the doorman, you feel welcomed and know that this hotel is a very special place. We stayed there for a wedding and absolutely loved our corner room overlooking the water. The accomodations were state of the art and luxurious. Love the outdoor patio and bar, and so cool to walk along the channel after dinner on a summer eve. The spa is terrific. If you are looking for upscale accomadations in the heart of Boston, The Intercon is your place.

Room Tip: ask for the room overlooking the Boston Tea Party!

I've stay here for the past 2 years for my anniversary and my wife and i both absolutley LOVE it. The hotel is beautiful & elegant, extremely clean and well taken care of it and the location fantastic. There are 2 highend steakhouses within walking distance and a number other excellent resteraunts and venues along the waterfront. Additionally, the service is excellent. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience and have everything you need. Looking forward to going again!

Room Tip: Reserve early and get a water view
