Stayed in ICBoston for few nights in March - was an ok stay with nice room, but not without some flaws.

Firstly, on check in we were given an unclean room - dirty glasses, filthy bathroom and un-emptied bins etc. To be fair check in staff were helpful and we were given an alternative room, although none were ready so we had to wander about for a while till a rom was available - not ideal after a long trip. You'd expect a chain like the IC to have mechanisms in place to ensure guest are given clean rooms. The new room was supposedly a water view but to be honest this was mostly only seen by standing in a far off corner of the room and looking sideways.

The hotel is under the flight path for Logon airport, depending on what way the planes are taking off this can be noisy.

The room was clean, well maintained and comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. The best feature of this room is the bathroom - very sumptuous and well done.

IMpressive communal areas but could be better.

Wi-fi charges are high and should be included.

The Club Lounge facilities were of a good standard and staff here were friendly and helpful, albeit there would appear to be a shortage of sparkling wine in the evenings and the choice of canapes were a little repetitive although we were only here for three nights.

Reasonable hotel but not the best if you are coming to Boston - could be better.

Dear glennharrold,

This is a very nice hotel. When I'm in Boston I will stay here again. When we arrived we were told that the room with two double beds we had put as a preference was not available. We knew there was no guarantee on getting that, but they offered a free upgrade to a suite with a king and a rollaway bed. They didn't have to do that, but did in any case. Very nice service. The room was very spacious and even better than the two doubles would have been. My wife and I were travellling with our teen-aged daughter. We put the mattress from the rollaway onto the sofa and it was very comfortable, and then put it back foled up on the rollaway frame each morning.

Super location for touring the North End and Freedom Trail, all well within walking distance.

I wrote a scathing review of the Intercontinental in Boston and was reluctant to visit again. However I noticed that the Intercontinental and had made some changes. Among them notably, was the appointment of the well respected, experienced executive, Marty Joyce, as Director of Group Sales.
To me it signaled a commitment by the ICM team to focus on the Boston market. My visit from the check in was markedly improved. The rooms are quality rooms with attention to detail. The service ethos was apparent. As someone who heads up a consulting practice and works with larger organizations, i would whole heartily recommend the Intercontinental was any business or personal function in the Boston area.

THE ROOM -The king bed room we had on the 10th floor was amazing. Ample space, pristinely clean, beautiful lighting, and perfect view of the water. Good air quality, nice linens, comfortable mattress. The travertine-tiled bathroom was huge, and right above the bathtub there is a sliding partition that opens onto the head of the bed -design is difficult to explain but I've uploaded photos of room 1043. Pay wifi though, so beware and prepared. I had Verizon LTE and reception was decent but occasionally spotty.

NEARBY -Check out Flour bakery + cafe at 12 Farnsworth St, it's right across the Congress St. bridge. This is a perfect breakfast or lunch stop! It's great if you are heading to the convention center, or even before heading out to sightseeing. For serious coffee enthusiasts, try Barrington Coffee Roasting company. Siam Thai across the street from the main entrance great for a quick cheap meal.

THE SERVICE -The only drawback was that the staff was not especially friendly, only cordial, perhaps because we were not dressed up, which is a shame. We arrived on the evening of a huge event starting in the morning at the very near-by Convention Center. I was surprised that there was only 1 person at the check-in desk, so there was a wait. Check-out on the last day of the convention had an even longer line. Luggage check service was very curt.

Room Tip: Room 1043 is a king bed with huge bathroom (both shower and tub). Fantastic view of water, highly re...

We stayed back in August 2012 and I'm just realizing I never wrote a review. As others have said, the locations is excellent. Within minutes of walking to South Station, which is a major hub. We had a street view room and loved watching the city, especially in the morning coming alive and at night with the skyline lights.

I never heard a siren in our two nights there, and I am a very light sleeper. We splurged and ordered room service breakfast, it was wonderful both in service and quality. The beds were comfortable and the shower was fine.

One of the nicest things about the location is that the new Greenway is right across the street. Fountains, carousel, food, a beautiful peaceful area in the middle of the city. We walked up and down the greenway from South Station to the North End, stopping at Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall along the way. Lots of good food trucks at South Station and over at Government Center (try Bon Me, Clover, and Mei Mei's Street Kitchen!)

The reason this didn't get five stars from me is because of the typical high prices for wifi and parking and restaurant (which we didn't try). At these prices, wifi should be included; it is obviously just a cash cow for them and its very transparent. Don't pay it. Plenty of free wifi in the area - even the Greenway!

Chose this hotel because it is really close to the financial district and within easy walking distance to and from the office while in Boston.

Service was pretty good, location was great, and room was quiet, large and comfortable.

I didn't eat at any of the on site restaurants in the evenings, but did get room service a couple of times. The service was good, but the food was average.

Breakfasts were pretty good though, good selection and nice view.
