“Spectacular Latin meal!”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

This review is for their Shawmut South End location, as they have at least 3 other venues in Boston.

This was a great night from the minute we entered the door, and I had never been here before. I had called ahead to learn that they don't take reservations, which was good to know. It's fairly limited with seating, so not a good option for a large party. But waitstaff were immediately there to ascertain size of our party and at that moment, there wasn't a table yet for 4. Not to worry, there is a small side area at front where they quickly shared the menu and took early drink orders. This location serves limited drink menu - for alcohol, it only has white wines, red wines, and beer. They have another location which serves other cocktails.

It was good to wait a bit, as we could see great-looking dishes being served to the other patrons. And the smells wafting through the air were tempting. For a Saturday night at 7.30pm, we only waited a short 15 minutes. Drink orders were immediate followed by quick summary of the specials. The waitstaff were happy to explain some of the main menu items, and which items were favored.

The food...fantastic! Datiles (dates and an almond, wrapped in bacon) were awesome, but the bacon nicely crispy. I would have eaten a whole plateful of these! Good option was the empanadas trio (steak or the beans were good) and very tasty dipped in the garlicky sauce. All our entrees were excellent, including ribs, chicken (juicy!), tenderloin, and sausage. The yucca fries were also a bit different. Dessert wasn't the best option - only 2 choices (molten chocolate cake and a caramel flan), but the rest of the meal made up for it.

Restaurant is location on a quiet residential street.

Staff is the friendlies and the meals are not only reasonable but super tasty. From the Pollo Adobo, Empanadas and Lomito Guayanes. If I go on I will not end. Not to mention the restaurant it self is super super cute specially in the summer when the patio is open. So if in Boston, you have to come to this place.

“Tropical Goodish”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

The restaurant is located in a very quiet neighborhood, be sure they are open before you arrive, as the schedule is quite limited. The food was good, I think the fact that Venezuelan and Brazilian birth, puts me in a more critical about dishes they served. Not only food from Venezuelan but also from the Caribbean, the dedication that the chef put to each dish is very noticeable, but not compared to my grandmother's food. It is interesting that they also have a store where they sell clothing items, salsa, etc. If you are in Boston perhaps you can go and enjoy this Venezuelan experience and maybe your opinion will be different than mine. This place is great for dates.

This place offers really good food and service. I've been to this restaurant 3 times already and it has consistently offered a great dinning experience. It is good for couples and small groups too.
