“Great hotel despite the location”
Reviewed October 19, 2009

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of September, after getting a good deal on Expedia.
Hotel was a short journey via the silver line bus and a short walk.
Room was very big with a great view of Boston.
Very comfy beds and great bathroom with great showers.
Food near the hotel was limited. The Irish bar connected to the hotel did not offer much variety and was expensive.
There was a medium sized pool and a small jacuzzi which was perfect for the end of a day of sightseeing.
Only down side was the distant to town. It was easily walkable (which we did in the daytime), or you can get a taxi into the centre for about $5-$8.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you can get a good price - you won't find anything cheaper with a central location.

Would recommend this hotel if visiting Boston. It is possible to walk the 1.5 miles into Boston. Alternatively, use the Silver Line ,just five minutes walk away, in order to get both to and from the airport and downtown Boston, just $2.00 per person per trip, very frequent service. Lounge is spacious although food options are limited close to the hotel.

Close to the airport and adjacent to the BCEC, the Westin Waterfront is a good choice if you are in town for a conference. Although I much prefer the Hynes Convention Center for location, the BCEC is larger and the waterfron area where it is located is becoming nicer and nicer all of the time. Trouble is, if you want to go anywhere at night be prepared for lengthy and expensive cab rides. The T is right there but if you want to get anywhere promptly cabbing it is your only choice.

The hotel itself is clean, spacious and very nice. Reasonable fitness center and nice lobby bar.

I thought the hotel was absolutly wonderful and it made for a comfortable and relaxing trip for our extended family. Upon arrival, the brought out toys for the children and actually put us in adjoining rooms without us having to ask! Rooms were large, bathrooms pristine. The only possible downside was the location and the fact that you had to pay to park at the hotel. We were not in the heart of downtown Boston and had to drive to get there, but the quality of the hotel more than made up for this in my opnion.

Thank you for the positive comments you had for our hotel. While there are some tourist attractions within walking distance, South Station is just a short 10 minute walk from the hotel and can take you to just about anywhere in the city without driving! We realize there are many hotels in the city to choose from and it is our hope that you will stay at The Westin Boston Waterfront for your next visit.

Location: It only takes like five minutes to get to the hotel from the airport, but be prepared to pay $20 or more for it. We were able to walk to Faneuil Hall area, the aquarium, and Quincy market area in about 30 minutes. The Old Towne Trolley also picks up right out front of the Westin, which was pretty convenient on the days we paid for it. In short, on the outskirts of the fun stuff, but pretty easy to get to it.

Price: Like all Westins, everything on the inside is expensive. The internet was way overpriced, and after I paid for it, I realized I could get the Lobby wireless in my room on the 6th floor. The price of the room wasn't too terrible.

Room: The room was very comfortable, clean and nice.

Food: The breakfast buffet at Saucity downstairs was great. The pub was good too. Both were pretty overpriced. The buffet at breakfast was definitely the best value because it comes with coffee and juice, which are $4 and $6 respectively on their own, and the buffet was $16.

We booked the Westin on line and got a decent rate. Although it was not directly in downtown Boston its proximity was close enough and there were sight seeing buses that stopped right outside the hotel. The hotel was very nice. The restaurant was a bit pricey and the food a bit bland. The gym and pool area were clean and updated. However the parking was a total rip off. The valet sign out front stated overnight guests $42.00. It didn't state per night and maybe I am not a versed enough traveller, but I didn't realize it was $42.00 per day!! When I tried to speak with the parking attendant she blew me off, as did her manager and the head of the parking company. The parking company is separate from the Westin so I don't want this review to actually go against the hotel I just want future travelers to be aware of this pitfall.

Check-in was easy. We had a great waiter at the restaurant attached to the hotel. Very clean room. It was a nice place.
