“A surprise that will blow you away, gently”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

My boyfriend and I consider this one of our favourite experiences from a trip we took to the East Coast. Looking back, there were a lot of a reasons this made sense. A) it was recommended by a local B) it captured the "after-game" crowd from the Red Sox games (aka they know what their doing to stay in business) and C) the very organized line up outside. We waited for a table, were sat in an intimate corner and spent the next four hours enjoying incredible food, perfect wine pairings and the freshest oysters we've ever had. If in doubt, just ask your server for their recommendations. The service is borderline 4-diamond and it's apparent they take pride in EVERYTHING they do. Nothing half-assed, even though they are incredibly busy. Check out the gallery upstairs - part of the hotel and on your way to the bathrooms. Well done and thank you!

“Nice restaurant Good Atmosphere”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

Stopped in for burgers before the Red Sox game. The server was excellent and attentive, and very informative about menu. Our burgers were perfectly cooked, but I have to say that the fries were amazing! They were down right addictive! We all commented on the fries being addictive....the Eastern Standard has a great atmosphere. The place was hopping but did not feel overcrowded, very open, nice. We will return.

“Breakfast Parisianne”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

While staying at the amazing Hotel Commonwealth for a Red Sox game, we had to return to the popular Eastern Standard restaurant for a leisurely breakfast, on their Parisianne cafe-style street patio on a beautiful Boston morning. Breakfast was excellent. We ordered the scrambled eggs, ham, home fries and wheat toast platter and the egg white vegetable frittata. Both were very flavorful and served by our gracious waitserver Erica. She told us that the remarkable coffee they serve is Fazenda, a delightful aromatic brew from Columbia. Reasonable prices. Superb service. Relaxing ambience. Also, watching the "peeps" walking by on bustling Commonwealth Avenue is a bonus.

“Breakfast belle”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

Received a recommendation to try this restaurant for breakfast on a recent trip to Boston. The best french toast and eggs benedict ever!!! It may seem a bit pricey but considering we had eaten breakfast out every day for this trip to both New York and Boston, mostly in diners, this place was no more expensive and the service was excellent. Well worth a trip.

“Great lunch - love to go back”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

As we are staying at the Hotel Commonwealth, and it's raining in a huge way today, this was an easy pick for lunch. Luckily for our unknowing selves, the very popular restaurant was able to seat us right away. Awesome service, and great food. The calimari - which all my people love, so we always order - but which I personally don't love? was incredible. Tasty oysters, salads, and sandwiches followed. Then the waiter, who while talking to us discovered our son had just proposed to his fiancee (they were with us), brought an eye-rolling yummy dessert to the table as a treat. We loved every minute of our time in this restaurant: seriously tasty food in a great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
