Really tasty oysters, and just a generally nice environment. The sea bass deserves a mention, as well. Worth a visit when in the Boston area.

We spent a long weekend in Boston and chose Mare as one of our dinner spots. This was a great choice. The Thai mussels were to die for, the rissoto seafood fantastic, and the halibut out of this world. Good wine list, great food, courteous welcome and service. Just a fantastic place.

This restaurant has italian origins, the oysters are very tasty. The fruit de mer we enjoyed was superb. We had a great time and we left the restaurant with a happy feeling

celebrated father's day with the family (including 17/15/10 year old kids). seafood was fresh and delicious. we ordered raw oysters (such a huge variety), and they were great. husband ordered the grilled whole mediterranean sea bass (also offered filleted), which he loved, and came with rabe (yum!) & potatoes. mother in law ordered the special - striped bass. boys ordered pan roasted halibut and the ribeye (huge thick slab). i had the Grigliata di Pesce (grilled seafood platter), which came with lobster, calamari, scallops, shrimp, seared tuna, and white fish for $36.99. it also is offered as a soup in light tomato broth (zuppa di mare) for $34.99. it has a very modern feel, with 2 TVs and a bar, right at the corner down the street of paul revere house, and 3 blocks away from mike's pastries. would recommend to any seafood lover, and by far one of the best seafood restaurants i've been to in/around boston.

I stopped here before heading over to the Bruins game and didn't have a ton of time. Thus, I didn't order a bottle of wine or have a chance to ask a lot of quesitons about the menu. I went for the trio of crudos and the fish special. The meal was very good and the service as well. We didn't stay for dessert. I'd love to return for a more relaxed meal and many give this place 5 stars.
