Excellent day-to-day cuisine with plenty of french specialties. We had the boudin ( black pounding) ognon soup, coq au vin , steak frites.

“Ok no more”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

Decent hearty French food. Staff friendly (a little too friendly maybe? Trying to speak French to us all the time). The food was what I would get at home but not very creative.

Ok place if you want classic heavy French cuisine.

Stay away from desserts. Not up to par.

“Christmas Dinner with the wife”

Fantastic food. Great service, little slow because very busy, but well within reason and nothing a bottle of wine can't fix. Love this place. Plan on coming back many times

“Petit Robert Bistro is the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2013

From start to finish Chef Jacky Robert's bistro is one of the finest restaurants in Boston. Thanks to a gift certificate we ate a fine dinner today. From the bay window looking out at Mass Ave, near Fenway Park, you can people watch. The waiters were friendly and met all of our requests. We both thought the French Onion soup was excellent, with great broth and cheese. Other soups on the menu we will have to try another time. My husband ate Coquilles St. Jacques (pan-seared scallops) and I had Beef Burgundy. Both arrived plated with fresh mix of lightly steamed vegetables, still crisp and tasty. We actually didn't need the Assorted vegetable salad, but the bowl we shared was emptied as well as the fresh crusty bread and butter. Already planning to return. Also learned that Chef Jacky has an organization called Chefs Feed Kids, he started after a trip to the Philippines. The only disappointment would be not having room for dessert. Next time! Already thinking when we will return.

“Authentic French cooking in Boston”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2013 via mobile

These guys know what they are doing. The veal kidneys on my last visit were sensational, and the wine menu is well judged and - by Boston standards - well priced. It's small and can get crowded on game days, but the staff can handle it well.
