“Expected better service”

“Expected better service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

We were very excited about this place only to be disappointed.
On arrival to Boston we went in and booked a table for the following evening. When we got there they hadn't allocated us a table by the window (it's the 52nd floor with amazing views this is why we came), despite tables being free they wouldn't move us (they have a queue of people waiting for those tables who get priority over bookings - something we weren't told). This is a 4 star restaurant with a price tag to match so once seated I expect impeccable service and very good food, both were decidedly average (the former due to lack of staff).
The only shining light was our sever 'Noosh', a lovely girl working very hard to serve too many tables per person, in my opinion. Everything felt rushed, Noosh served us as well as she could but was constantly moving off as she asked us a question as she had too many tables to check on. Other staff members such as those bringing food to your table were unfriendly which dampened the atmosphere. The views were amazing you cant deny that but overall this place was an expensive disappointment.

“Must do...”

Even if it's only for drinks. We went there for drinks, ended up staying for dinner and live music. Such a great atmosphere. Beautiful views of Boston. Try the mango peach martini. Yum. And I ordered the Kobe Beef hot dog sliders. Amazing.

“Spend your $16 at the restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2014

For an indoor observatory on the 50th floor out of only 52, the admission is a bit overpriced. For like $23 bucks you can go to the top of the Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore. Save your $16 and spend it at the restaurant or bar upstairs and take your pictures there.

“It's All About the View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2014

At Top of the Hub, the above average dishes doesn't match up to the million dollar views of Boston. They don't have the best high end food in the hub but the spectacular views of the city and the Madison Avenue style shopping at Copley Place and "The Pru" will make up for the food and the pretty penny you are about to spend here for dinner.

“Do you want to see Boston from the sky?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014

Top of the Hub is a cafe/restaurant is in Prudential tower right above the Skywalk Observatory which is fee based. Instead of paying the fee you can just go to Top of the Hub and enjoy a cup of coffee and look at the Boston skyline. I go there whenever friends come to town, everyone seems to like it. Food is not exceptional, but doesn't really matter, most people go there for the view anyway. It is reasonably priced, even for dinner. They have live jazz music some nights, so I recommend checking the website.Overall it is a pleasant place, not too crowded, staff is not pushy, you can really sit down and relax and enjoy your meal alone or with a group.
