My first time going to this iconic restaurant. We knew we had to arrive in person to get on the list, but decided it was worth it to see what all of the noise was about. We arrived at 3pm thinking we would have a short wait, only to find that even at that hour, we had a two hour wait! It turned out to be only 45 minutes as undoubtedly others cancelled and our wait was reduced. It would have been worth the wait even for two hours. The suggestion I have is to go with the intention of wandering around North End to shop or see sites. The time goes by fast and there is so much to do or see in the area. Well worth the experience. Try it!

We skipped the infamous lobster roll and did not regret it!!!!! We had a plate of a variety of oysters, which were delicious. Next was the Spanish octopus - it was tender and wonderful with absolutely divine flavours! And then for the finale - the Cioppini.......it was beyond excellent - spicy and so perfectly flavoured. We would absolutely go back to Neptune Oyster again....well worth the wait😊

great selection of fresh oysters, as expected after reading many rave reviews on this restaurant.
sardine caprese salad was a surprise. the sweetness of the sardines really complemented the creamy buffalo mozzarella and the tomatoes' sweetness.
their cioppino (spicy stew of grilled seafood and rice) was memorable, one of the best dishes i have had in a long time!
certainly will come back, even though i had to queue for a while, even in the afternoon.

Ok, first one was so good at James Hook & Co. This one was at the Neptune. James Hook is the best hands down!! It's a seafood company so I'm thinking it's because it is fresher. Atmosphere at Neptune was overly crowded. Neptune's was chewy but good. Not spectacular! My vote goes to James Hook!!! I might try Pauli's tomorrow. Oh...by the GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!!

A lot of reviews are about the lobster rolls, but this place also has the best clam chowder I have ever eaten, and as a New England native I have had a lot. The consistency is perfect, not too thick nor too thin, and actual clams are included. They also had a good selection of oysters, as expected, and a decent list of wines by the glass. As a solo diner I lucked out on the wait, so altogether a fine experience. Will go back if I can get in.
