Overrated, crowded, warm oysters, no ice in water, no salt and pepper had to ask. Food was just OK , there are plenty of good seafood restaurants in Boston that offer a better dining experience.

Heard this was the place to go for oysters and seafood. Waited 2 hours to be seated. This restaurant is small really small. It is cramped and noisy. We sat right at the front door. The people waiting to be seated were in your face during the entire meal. The oysters are fresh and a good selection. The scallops were average and the mackerel was good. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. There is no desert or coffee. Eat your meal and leave. Not worth the wait. The food is not exceptional and the atmosphere is a food factory..

I went here because several websites say that it's the best place to get lobster rolls in Boston. I had one in another place and was a bit disappointed, so I really didn't have any big expectations with Neptune Oyster. It turned out to be a nice experience though! The lobster at Neptune Oyster wasn't rubbery or negligible: there's actually large chunks of lobster mixed in a proper amount of mayonnaise. And I thought the bread was nice as well. The fries were a bit soggy and bland for my taste, but they were not at all revolting (and it's good that they're not the pre-made kind). Be here early as it's quite crowded during lunch and dinner.

Well worth the hour wait. We came on a Saturday as soon as they opened and still had to wait for over an hour to be seated. The reason is the restaurant is small and they take their time with every table. The lobster rolls were good but the oysters were the most notable. Very very good oysters. We loved it!!!!

Once you are seated the staff is very nice & the food prep is quick!
Raw oyster starters come with excellent descriptions so you can pick what you like from the long list! Perfectly fresh & cold!
The hot lobster roll with no bun & tossed salad came with fresh mixed baby greens & a soup bowl heaping with delicious buttery lobster!
The fried clam appetizer with delicious homemade sauce was THE BEST! Sweet tender clams with a light crispy crust accented by the homemade tartar sauce.
We will return on our next visit!
