Maybe I am spoiled, but I have to say it is a pretty standard oyster bar. I guess it's pretty famous for whatever reason.
I went by myself around 8:15 pm on a Monday night and was able to get on the list. It was about a 30 minute wait. By the time I sat down, they weren't taking anymore names for the list.
Oysters were great, the bartender were very informed about the different types of oysters. I also ordered their clam chowder. Different from others as it was less creamy (I did like it), filled with clams, but at some point I ate a bunch of empty shells. Unfortunately, they did not have any razor clams. So I went with the anchovies, which were great. Now the bad, the bluefin crudo - sub-standard, nothing special - so don't get it.
Overall, I think it's a nice, small place with beer and wine, pretty standard food, but definitely not worth the wait of more than 30 minutes. Unless you're trying to eat here, because they are "famous", I'm sure there are many more other places you can eat with very similar food. Trust me, even the bartender recommended other places.
