“Cozy and awesome location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

I have been to this bar for many years now, and not only is it always a good time, but its located in the beautiful Lenox Hotel on Boylston Street. The atmosphere is cozy and dimly lit nice lounge with some low tables/booth seats and a long bar also with plenty of standing room. The cocktails and champagne mixed drinks we had the other night were delicious! A gorgeous meeting place with lots of class and a great crowd.

“Hotel Breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

The food was pretty good but the coffee was cold and it was quite expensive, there are plenty of other good places to eat in the city.

“Best avoided”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

Part of the fabulous Lenox hotel, (see my review) however this bar not so fabulous.

They insist on having the door open, which is opposite the main entrance, so on a cold winter night it was freezing in the bar. We had to sit with our coats draped over us and we might as well been sitting in the road!

The staff were indifferent and lackadaisical, brought a list of cocktails but had to be prompted for the wine list and service was oh so slow. Go somewhere else!

“Weeknight Drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2012

My friend was in town from Raleigh, and she was in the mood for an after dinner drink so I brought her to City Bar. It was much nicer on a week night than the weekends I've been in the past. Quiet, not crowded, room to sit at the bar. The bartender was friendly. I ordered one of my favorite gin cocktails on their menu, the China Rose (citrus, Hendrick's, rosemary, St. Germain): Refreshing and delicious. It's easy to put back a few drinks when there's a nice ambiance and you're able to chat away. We both left in better moods.
