“Cozy with a neighborhood feel”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

My wife and I have eaten here on multiple occasions when staying in Boston before or after a flight. The restaurant is a short walk or drive from the Holiday Inn express down the road and we haven't had any trouble getting in for dinner, but it doesn't hurt to call first. Everything we have tried here has been of high quality and, being wine drinkers, we also found their bottle prices to be very fair. Its a laid back atmosphere where you wont feel out of place if you under or over dress. We have always eaten either in the bar area or outdoors and although at times the service seemed slow, I wouldn't call if poor, again just laid back.

“Funky Feel”
Reviewed July 29, 2012

We ate at this restaurant based on the recommendation of one of the hotel staff. We found the restaurant to have a funky feel that we enjoyed. We sat outside on a nice night and enjoyed the flowers in the small front patio. The food was O.K., with a somewhat limited menu. Our oldest daughter opted not to eat after not seeing anything on the menu that she liked. The parmesan zucchini sticks were tasty and the cod cakes had a good taste, but the texture was a bit unappealing. Our waitress was very good and showed just the right amount of attentiveness.

“"...still the same after all these years"..”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

my wife and I had not revisited this location in years and were happy to see the only changes were the menu items...we had a drink and two appetizers at the bar---mussels were fabulous in a light butter and wine broth, and the parmesan zucchini sticks, fresh zucchini, cooked to perfection with a bleucheese dipping sauce--too many in the order to finish...the bartender was attentive, but a newbie--when my wife asked for a twist of lemon for her drink, she brought it over and placed it on a napkin next to the drink !!! Pretty funny, but 224 has not lost a step in all these years--must be at least 20 years in the same spot..

My sister and I had salmon for dinner June 9, 2012, evening. Both sick shortly afterwards combined for 7 hours. Could not contact restaurant because of no email address and no phone answering machine to warn others.
