Very small room, made mostly of ice. Between the cover charge and the drink costs, it's an expensive visit. Once you're in the room, there's not much to do except finish your drink and leave.
A great experience. Its very small and super cold. We loved it. $12 to get in per person. They only serve drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic). Make sure you upgrade to 'Ice" glass.
The huge Yeti we spotted as we walked into the aquarium side of Quincy Market piqued our curiosity. They were offering half price entry if you took a selfie with him. Who could resist such a silly ploy? The ice bar is a pricey but fun happening, especially on a hot sunny day. You go up to the third floor, pay your entry free, leave credit card info for the drinks bill, put your belongings in a free locker, get your insulated hooded cape and then step into the transition room for a 20 sec video. The door opens and you are inside the ice fort , not quite the one of your childhood dreams. They are very organized albeit small bar with funky drinks poured by a bundled up bartender. The decorations are not very exciting but the thick ice and the cold are the draw. Warning, don't bite your ice glass as it will shatter!
A very different type of bar to go 'chill out' in. There is an entry fee of $12/person. If you want to get out of the Summer heat and cool down and you're curious and adventurous, check it out. Ask folks for where it is since it is on the 3rd floor of one of the newer buildings. They give you a quilted parka to wear and gloves. Why? Well they movie you watch says the air temp is 23 degrees. The day we were there, they had rebuilt the room with fresh ice blocks, so it cooled down to a lovely 10 degrees. The parka and gloves keep you warm. The ice block furniture is covered with faux fur blankets. Drinks were about average in price. They will bring you in to a room to cool you down some so you don't just jump into the chill right away. Look at their website if you still need more info. Frosticeloft.com or call (617) 307-7331.
This is a really neat thing to experience. You have provide with this really nice parkas that go over you head and have a hood, you are also given gloves but they don't keep you hands all that warm. As you enter you will have you picture taken and it is up to you at the end if you want to purchase them or not. They have a neat set-up inside and even your drinking glasses are made of ice. There are neat pictures on the walls all made out of ice. The bartender even explain to us how they add the color in the end. This is not a bit pricey as you have to paid to enter, you do not have to purchase a drink but if you do get a drink that is another price. You probably will only be able to stay inside for 1 drink as it is only about 10-15 degrees.
Frost Ice Loft is a uniquely fun experience and especially great on a hot summer day. It’s a bar made entirely of ice (they give you parkas and gloves to wear because it's only 10 degrees inside). It was a little pricey ($12 cover charge and drinks are $12+ each) but so it was much fun! The mixed drinks are served in glasses made of ice. This is a must see location in Boston, conveniently located in the North End behind Faneuil Hall.
