It is situated in an ideal location if you are a fan of baseball, just walk up the street to Fenway Park. Many choices of restaurants around the area. We picked the hotel because it is a short walk to Boston University - my daughter is a freshman and we dropped her off at her dorm and stayed at he hotel for 3 days. She joined us for breakfast every morning and we walked to the campus for different activities provided by the university. Kenmore square is next to Fenway Park with many restaurants and a subway station- you can conveniently take the T to downtown, Chinatown, and other attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly and valet parking, $40. Nice small rooftop pool and open air deck for relaxing and enjoying the night view. Tried to book the hotel again for Columbus day weekend but was fully booked. It looks new compared to some surrounding hotels that have better reviews.

We visited right after games 1 and 2 of the 2013 World Series. This hotel is in viewing distance of Fenway. Rooms are very clean, staff is friendly and breakfast is abundant - waffles, pancakes, eggs yogurts, cereals, fruit and decent coffee...they should upgrade the coffee. There is a rooftop lounge with heat lamps. Faces Fenway Park. You would certainly be able to hear the roar of the crowd from the deck. Fitness gym and laundry facilities looked above average. You can walk to Kenmore Square. Fairly decent array of stores, bars and restaurants nearby. Would stay here again.

BEWARE CHECK YOUR BILLING FROM THIS HOTEL (see below). My room was nice but not fancy, overpriced for the room but extremely quiet even after a Red Sox game. The main benefit is probably the location being close to Fenway Park and decent restaurants & bars, although I didn't have the opportunity to go to a game :( and it is a few blocks from the T. My room had a desk chair with a broken arm, but otherwise was in good condition. I booked online for 4 nights, had a confirmation email for 4 nights, checked out after 4 nights with a bill for 4 nights, then a few days later got an email from Mariott with the message title: "Thanks for staying!" When I read the body of the email it showed the Residence Inn added an extra 5th night after I had left and billed my credit card! I called the central Mariott reservations on a Saturday but was told they would not do anything about it other than refer to the hotel for when a manager shows up on Monday (apparently no manager is at the Mariott Residence Inn on weekends???). I gave a Terrible rating for service not due to hotel service staff but due to (i assume) front desk staff or reservation manager trying to overbill me then Mariott's central customer service agent not taking immediate steps to rectify the problem (so general hotel service is good but customer service is terrible). Otherwise overall rating would have been very good.

Everything was good for this new hotel, check in and check out were fast , breakfast was good, spacious suite, free internet, lift was fast, hotel was modern, reception Paula Bourdes was extremely helpful and this hotel is located in a nice area. One thing that was no good, it was the Housekeeping on 5/F, they were not very efficient (when i was on 4/F ,they were very good) , even after several requests, they still do not come and clean my room. On one occasion, they only dropped in some clean towels. Out of my 2 weeks here, for 3 days, nobody cleaned my room. I wish they had a restaurant or coffee shop here that serves simple food.

What a surprising little gem of a place! New and not your typical Residence Inn, this has an almost boutique feel. Rooms are spacious, staff is super friendly and nice and the location is amazing. The restuarants are well known names and conveniet, only steps away. You can shop and of course Fenway Park, you could probably hear a game from the front door, the hotel is so close!

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom mini suite with a kitchen/sitting area. It was very convenient and comfortable as well as stylishly decorated. Hotel is close to Fenway metro and the stadium. There was no ballgame on whilst we were there so quiet. This is not the Backbay area - definitely Fenway.
Local facilities include restaurants including the excellent Sweet Cheeks Bbq and also a few shops - conveniently a Shaw's supermarket for supplies for your stay. Hotel staff were friendly and it is efficiently run with great facilities. There is a laundry room on the top floor - and a gorgeous rooftop lounge - bar in which to have a drink whilst you are doing so.
We loved staying here and found it a 10 minute train ride to the centre. Only reason not to give it excellent is that the breakfast is not as good as some of our other hotels on this trip. However, it was included in our room cost. We could have eaten our own choice of breakfast in our suite of course. There are also fitness facilities and an indoor pool but we did not have time to use them.

We usually do Boston as a day trip but given that we had a late night planned at the ALCS Championship game we decided to find a place to stay near Fenway so we wouldn't have a late drive home. Residence Inn was perfect. Almost. The room itself was quiet - no hallways or adjacent room noise, no street noise. But the refrigerator in room 619 intermittently moaned and groaned and made horrific noise that woke us several times during the night. If they can fix the fridge, the place is perfect!!
